About this property

A river retreat caught between Florida's beaches and Orlando's Amusement Parks.

A quiet house with a large cabin feel, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando and Daytona Beach but is within short driving distances from some of Florida's amazing springs and nature walks! The house boast an amazing view of the Saint John's river, the Lake Monroe Conservation area, and an intriguing historical Indian mound. The house has an unbelievable 130 feet of water front that looks as natural as it was when the house was built in 1949. Every room is flooded with natural light which gives a nature enthusiasts every opportunity to observe the constant flow of Florida's wildlife from wild turkeys, large cranes, gorgeous painted buntings, red cardinals, and of course the Florida alligators! This home is ideal for large families who love the outdoors; however, it also is set up for those who need their own space. Each bedroom is accessed through a large screened in patio which is an idea place to watch the sunrise each morning. The bathrooms are set up jack-and-jill style between two bedrooms on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second floor. There is also a library area, set loft style, above the living room overlooking the amazing view and those below. The library has a small selection of books however there is table seating, a sleeping area, and wireless internet available for those who want to get away but need to still be connected. There is also a large capacity washer and dryer set up in the breezeway for all the clothes that will need to be washed for all your outdoor adventures. The home is within walking distance to an outdoor waterfront restaurant that hosts, on occasion, live music and serves your basic grill style food which includes gator. In addition, the home is adjacent to a full service marina which is great for boating enthusiasts. Being adjacent to the marina renters who bring their own boat, with insurance, have the option to use the Sanford Boat Works facilities which includes their boat ramp, covered docking amenities, fuel dock, and their low key clubhouse that has a well maintained pool and gaming area. The use of the Sanford Boats Works facilities is an additional cost that is paid directly to the Marina. Information can be provided on request. Although the use of the marina is a boon there are public boat ramps not far from the home and more than adequate parking for more than one trailer on the property; therefore, everyone can enjoy the river, Lake Monroe, and even Lake Jesup. In addition, there is room for a family to park their RV without obstructing the view from the home. The possibilities are endless for family fun vacation!

Wonderful place to stay!
Our family stayed at the property for 5 days in August. It was such a relaxing place to stay! There's lots of room for a big group to stay comfortably. We especially loved the great room and the huge picture window overlooking the Marina! We would definitely stay again!

Welcome!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this marvelous house. It echos yesteryear with joy and caring. Walk in and immediately enjoy the view of the river through immense windows. The house is immaculate, huge but warm and inviting! Four bedrooms sharing two bathrooms. Porches upstairs and down, perfect to watch the sunrise. Fully stocked kitchen and washer and dryer. Be still and watch the river and maybe the sand hill cranes! Annamarie. the owner, is a delight, easy to contact and very helpful. We visited DeLand, a not to miss college town and spent time in Sanford a quaint town with boutiques and great restaurants. Enjoy your stay!

Stepping back in time
The charm of this house makes it easy to imagine life in a by-gone era when Florida offered daily adventures shared in nature while visiting your grandparents. The feeling of welcomed hospitality, grandeur and amazing sites right outside the windows. We would recommend sharing in the history of this neighborhood with an enjoyable stay at this location.

Daytona 500 trip
My brothers and I met here for the race. The place is very cool right on a canal right before the marina with a very nice outdoor restaurant. The owner let us check in early and showed us through the house.

Old time Florida beauty
This house is like being back in old time Florida. The wood gives it a lodge like feel. Very comfortable furniture. I loved sitting on the sofa and watching the nature out of the big picture window. My other favorite spot was sitting on the upper screened in terrace to look over the marsh while drinking my coffee. Annemaria certainly loves her house and treated us very well!

We are originally from South Florida and by some unusual set of circumstance we landed here in Sanford. We fell in love with history of Sanford and felt as if we were transported back in time thus we wanted to open "Ninovan" (our house in Cheyenne Indian) to other families.

Why they chose this property

The amazing view, the history of the area, the close proximity to the amusement parks and beaches, and the amenities made for a great family get away!

What makes this property unique

The history of the area and what our family can not say enough of is the view!
