Fun @ Sandpiper Inne
We just planned a quick trip from Chicago to South Haven. The house was in a great location, so cute with all the necessities we needed and accommodating to our 2 night stay. We hope to come back again soon. Thank you
Thank you for the review, Kelly. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the home and it's close proximity to everything people love about South Haven! We hope to see you return again soon.
Great location, close to everything
Overall the house was nice. Pots and pans in the kitchen or rusted out and teflon was worn off on many of the pieces. The home is older and everything creaks when walking around, even the doors. Loud enough to wake everyone up. Rental agency rep Nick was great and accessible. There is a leak in the basement beneath the bathroom, probably why there was a moldy smell in the home. For what we paid a night my expectations were a bit higher.
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the location of the home, with close distance to both the beach and downtown. In regards to the floors creaking, we are an older cottage that still has the charm of original hardwood floors and some doors, but I do apologize that this sound woke some members in your group. In regards to the Kitchen items, we have gone out and purchased new pots and pans and have removed the old ones. We also did have someone take a look at the shower and they could not identify a leak. Cleaners and Quality Assurance could not identify a smell of mold, however we have cleaned out the dehumidifier in the basement and replaced the drain hose from the unit. Overall we do hope that everyone enjoyed their time in South Haven and that you will consider returning again soon.
We loved it!
We loved our stay at The Sandpiper Inn! Very cute and clean, also had a very pretty enclosed backyard with landscaping to enjoy with the young kids. Very close to kids corner playground/park, and the blue stairs for beach access. Walk to south beach playground was a few more blocks but still very manageable, even with little ones. We all walked into town for ice cream one night too! Two slept comfortably on the porch every night. A/C worked great inside the house as well. Kitchen was great, very clean. The cabinets were all full of dishes/glasses, etc which was great to have plenty of, but could have used a little more pantry space to put food, etc. It was not an issue, we just used the little table in the kitchen to put our food items. I would definitely recommend!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review. We are so glad to hear that everyone at a great time at Sandpiper, and hope to see you return very soon!
We loved the cottage! It was adorable, clean, and had everything we needed. It really was like a home away from home.
Thank you for reviewing your stay, Terry! We are glad to hear everyone loved the home, and hope to see you return soon.
Nice location near beach and town center
For the price, I found this house disappointing. It would be more honest to say it “sleeps 6” because to sleep 8, one has to move heavy furniture around in the living room and then pull out the mattress from the sofa. Then put everything back for daytime use and start all over again after dinner.
In the kitchen there was not one empty shelf to put groceries. The cupboards need organizing because they are jammed with storage containers and assorted bowls in no particular order.
If it were my house, I would put a clothesline in the back yard for sandy, wet beach towels. We draped them on chairs in the back yard along with our bathing suits. Sometimes we draped them on furniture in the entry porch.
Someone in our group tried sleeping on the mattress on the front porch. Evidently the windows are nailed shut, so the only way to cool off is to turn the overhead fan on. That would be ok but it is controlled by the same switch as the outdoor light so there was light coming in. Around 10 pm, a streetlight came on, casting light on the porch from another direction.
The house has possibilities but could use some practical changes.
The dining table is a nice size and the fans were a big help in hot nights.
