About Geraldine Pring
I am a very active 60+ year old. I had a serious riding accident in 1981 and have been in a wheelchair since then. Needing space from a very busy tea room/restaurant and organic farm and shop, I came to live in Ireland in 1995 and bought the adjacent house, Sheehys Farmhouse. I extended that to provide access for my wheelchair, but then found it too big, so moved from there to a mobile home in 2008. In the meantime, I had to move back to the UK and now use the mobile home for holidays and short breaks. hence the decision to share this wonderful place with guests from around the world.
Geraldine Pring purchased this Mobile Home in 1995
Why Geraldine Pring chose Cloghane
This is a compact and cosy (35x12) mobile home which suits a family or group of up to 4 perfectly. Situated in a a special place that would be difficult, if not impossible, to find again. Fabulous views on all sides, quiet, but close to amenities. A great choice whatever your age or type...
What makes this Mobile Home unique
A unique property in a fabulous location, with direct access to a perfect safe, sandy beach. Walk over to the spit when the tide is out to find rock pools and 10 mile long Fermoyle Beach on the other side. Dig for cockles for tea. Ideal environment for walkers, children and dogs (but watch for stray sheep grazing on the sea banks). Easy swimming when the tide is in, or learn to wind surf in the shallow, warm water. Close to all amenities. Perfect ingredients for a relaxing holiday, whatever your age or preference.
.Smoking outside only.
This is a self catering unit, so please leave the property in a reasonably clean and tidy condition. Also do not allow pets on the sofas or beds. Breakages are inevitable occasionally so please let us know if this happens, so that we can replace items. Your damages deposit will be refunded approx. 1 week after your departure and when the property/inventory has been checked.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
A holiday to relieve all stresses and get away from it all.
The location of this property blew me away! With the beach on your doorstep an the mountain behind it really was idyllic. The caravan had everything we needed and was cosy and homely. We shall be coming back xxx
So lovely of you, Ruth, to leave such a charming review and sorry you had to leave a little early early! I hope everything ok at home. We would certainly love to see you again!
idyllic position, lovely home
lovely location, beach at the end of the garden, nice large garden, very quiet, absolutely ideal, home has large veranda and lovely views
Thank you Adrian, so pleased you enjoyed your stay, look forward to you coming again soon!! Thanks also for telling me about the leaky shower tray, will get that fixed asap. The decking also has a few areas to fix.
Relaxing and memorable stay
This location was perfect for my small family! We had everything we needed within the home and were very comfortable. The location is right on the beach and had the most beautiful views any time of day. Geraldine was very easy to get a hold of although we had no issues at all. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to relax on the beach while having a breathtaking view of the mountains. I would definitely stay here again in the future while visiting Ireland!
What a wonderful review, thank you Cheryl!! I was so worried as I didn't hear from you during your stay! So pleased everything ok, and we would love to welcome you again soon!! I have also now replaced the garden table (to go with the chairs) that was damaged in earlier windy weather!
Superb base on the Dingle Peninsula
We really enjoyed the privacy and scenic setting of this bolthole on the Dingle Peninsula. Though you need a car, the driving isn't extensive, as you're a short drive away from all highlights... Brandon Point, Connor Pass, Dingle, Slea Head Drive, Annascaul. The beaches are stunning, including the beach right at the gate of the mobile home! The mobile itself was clean, comfortable, pet friendly which made the holiday for us. Geraldine (owner) and Jackie (local contact) were only a phone call or friendly text away, should we have needed anything at all, and the information both emailed and left in folders in the mobile home were really useful. Highly recommended.
Peaceful, cosy home!!
My mum and I had a great stay at the home. It was the second time for us to stay and it was as good as the first. Geraldine and Jackie helped where they could and made our stay unique. Thanks to both of you!
Thank you for a great review Julia. I am so pleased you and your Mother enjoyed your stay again, although I believe the weather was not so good.....we came shortly after and it was the same for us, very mixed! But still stunning!
You can't find a better location than this place. It is about 100 feet from the beach on Brandon Bay, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also a short drive over Brandon Pass to the town of Dingle. It doesn't look like much from the outside, being a metal trailer home, but on the inside it has been updated nicely with excellent insulation and heating.
We had two problems during game our stay. One was a gas leak from a gas fireplace that caused the gas monitor to go off at midnight. I turned off the gas and the next morning Jackie was able to guide me on how to turn off the line to the fireplace and the problem was solved. That was a positive resolution. Good for them.
The other problem was not resolved. The WiFi did not work. Gerri kept sending me instructions for possible resolution, but I was not tech savvy enough to make them work. For three days we were there, she couldn't come out to fix it. It cost us $25 in roaming data costs because we did not have WiFi for three days.
We would go back, it is a great location, but if the WiFi did not work on the fist day, we would press harder to get it fixed right away.
Thank you for your review John, I am pleased you enjoyed your 3 days for the most part. Firstly, it is reassuring to know the gas alarm works well for guest's safety. Secondly, I am really sorry we couldn't get the wifi working this time. It would have been really difficuilt for me to come over from England to try and fix it. The listing does state quite clearly that wifi is not good, sometimes non existant in that mountainous area, and I did explain that the local pub and the supermarket have very good free wifi for public use.
At the end of this 3 day booking, the home was left in a very grubby and untidy state, necessitating an extra hours cleaning, and was left open and unlocked despite a keysafe being available nearby. Disappointing.
Very popular area for kite/wind and board surfing plus walking, fishing, horse riding and just "being". Artists paradise. Close to the Dingle Way and Atlantic Way. Market for local produce on Sundays in Castlegregory during the summer. Live music in most pubs Sat and/or Sun eves plus sveral in Dingle weekday evenings. Special session in The Railway, Camp every Sunday 7pm'ish all year round. All welcome.
