Vintage Rental With A Modern Twist - A Joy To Hang Out In And Of Itself!
- english, Tagalog, some Spanish
I am a career corporate finance professional and a life-long Chicagoan and resident of the Lincoln Square neighborhood. My wife is an attorney and we have two lovely children, ages 16 and 8. We collect art and greatly enjoy world travel.
Virgil purchased this Apartment in 1910
Why Virgil chose Ravenswood
This 1-BR rental unit is on the second floor of a beautiful brick two-flat and has an open balcony that's great to hang out at in the warmer months. The building is quintessential Chicago and conveniently located near transportation, a great park, shopping, fine restaurants, pubs, cafes, quaint little shops and the Old Town School of Music that has hosted acclaimed musicians from all over the world. The neighborhood has everything to offer for all ages and backgrounds - playground for kids, art fairs and festivals for the entire family, wine-tasting for oenophiles, spa for the ladies, sports bars, a big park to walk/jog in, and many more. Around the corner is Lutz Continental Cafe and Pastry, a Chicago institution that draws visitors from all over the city. The property is in a quiet, tree-lined block that is easy to get to and from many other points of interests in the city.
What makes this Apartment unique
This 1-BR unit has a quiet, cozy and modern/vintage vibe that's ideal for a couple on a romantic getaway or any traveler looking for a more relaxed alternative to hotel stays in a vibrant and safe city neighborhood. A Visit with Family
We feel like this property is our home in Chicago. Love the neighborhood as well as the comfortable apartment. If you get the chance, check out the beautifully remodeled Davis movie theater in Lincoln Square!
We love this place!
This was our fourth time renting one of Virgil’s apartments at this property. We adore the location and Virgil is incredibly responsive, kind, and quick with communication. He has a ton of wonderful advice on places to go, great restaurants, and local sites. The apartments are well appointed and Virgil responds quickly to the slightest issue- which are truly minor. These apartments are across the street from Aldi, a 2 minute walk to our favorite breakfast place, Jeri’s diner, and the greatest pastry shop, Lutz’s. Old Town School of Folk Music is close-by as well as parks, shopping, and the Brown Line of the El. I’ve stayed at Home Away locations all over and this is my favorite! Definitely stay here- you will not regret it!
Nice place, thoughtful host, beautiful neighborhood!
This apartment is clean and well appointed with all the little details to make our stay feel like home. The owner was very helpful, considerate, and experienced. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet and close to public transportation, Welles Park, and many lovely restaurants - including our favorite (french food), Bistro Champagne!
Great location to get around Chicago!
We loved our stay in Virgil’s apartment. It was so convenient for everything we wanted to do and the neighborhood was great for walking our dog. An added plus was Aldi across the street to grab a few items we needed. Virgil was so accommodating, always asking if we needed anything. Will definitely come back here on any future trips to the area!
Beautiful apartment in Chicago
I loved staying at this home and would absolutely return next time in Chicago. Virgil was a very gracious host. I really appreciated his communication and flexibility. The space is much make spacious than the pictures portrayed and there are lots of spots to check out in the neighborhood in walking distance.
Perfect for us!
We needed extra space while visiting our kids and grandkids in Chicago. My husband found this cozy two flat within a five minute walk to their home. Everything we needed was there and it couldn’t be any more comfortable! Would stay again in a heartbeat!!
