Loved our stay! Everything we needed and more.
Georgina's helpful advice and kindness added to our holiday experience. Free entertainment provided by the kittens as well. The wifi is somewhat temperamental but forced us to keep off technology - a good thing! The gite has everything we needed for our stay. Extra bonus having washing machine due to our 3 week stay. Gourdon was a great base for checking out the Lot and Dordogne. We will.miss our morning visits to La Fabrique for coffee. Many thanks again Georgina!
Cozy, quiet, central and well equipped
We had a lovely weeks stay at this gite. It's situated at the back of the hosts own home, and the owner was really friendly and happy to help with any suggestions required. The cottage is nicely decorated in a traditional style with everything you need to be self catered if that's what you want to do. The internet and tv were a bit hit and miss, but with free European roaming (for now!) It wasn't a problem and we didn't go to watch t.v. anyway.
Gourdon is ideally placed to visit plenty of excellent sites and itself has enough restaurants, bars and amazing scenery/architecture to keep you entertained.
We really enjoyed our time here and would love to return.
A wonderful place to stay in every way
This lovely little Gite is tucked away behind the owners property. It is quiet (silent in fact), private and so wonderfully French. The size of the place was not a problem at all, in fact it is bigger inside than it looks from outside!. Upstairs the bedroom was generous and the bathroom enormous and both had lovely old-fashioned touches. Plenty of room downstairs to cook and relax too, with the owner leaving lots of information about places to visit etc.
We loved Gourdon and it proved to be a good centre for visits around the Dordogne. We enjoyed the town's restaurants and bars too, as well as the historical buildings and lovely narrow streets.
Parking for the Gite looked like it might be an issue as there was a small public car park, but not once did we fail to get a space whatever time we returned from a day out. Would recommend the Gite; comfortable, very well equipped, thoughtful touches (not least the generous Welcome Pack) and a very friendly owner and family. We would love to go back and hope we will at some point.
All as advertised -only better!
Great week in Gourdon. Loved breakfast in the sunny garden, the "quiet" although in the middle of town and much appreciated the "welcome package" provided by our helpful hosts.
Parking was easy even though it was the middle of August and the town was alive with festivals and markets. Great to be able to walk about 50 yards to the terrace of the nearest excellent pizza restaurant!

Medieval retreat Richard the Lionheart knew well
It was a great pleasure to return once again to this comfortable cottage - it's becoming a home from home for me!
Nothing was too much trouble for my hosts - from the welcome pack at my arrival to useful tips about restaurants and places to visit.
La Grange is clean (and warm - it was October) and well-equiped. I didn't do much cooking this time, but the kitchen has pretty much everything you'd need.
Very quiet and peaceful, and yet right in the middle of the old town, you couldn't ask for a better location, with parking, shops and restaurants just minutes away.
I shall continue to recommend this delightful bolt-hole to my friends!
Gourdon is in the heart of the Lot and near to the Dordogne, offering countless opportunities for exploration. Rocamadour, just 40 minutes' drive away, is one of the must-see gems of this area and deservedly the second most visited religious site in France.
Cahors, the departmental capital that sits on the river Lot, has winding medieval streets and one of the best markets in the region. Downstream, the river is also home to the vineyards that produce the Cahors appellation wines, renowned for their depth and body.
The region has a remarkable number of prehistoric sites, medieval towns, châteaux and gardens, all set in breathtaking scenery.
Gourdon's lido opens June - Sept and the local lake offers swimming and walking. Bike hire is available and there are tennis courts too. 15-30 mins away it is possible to canoe on the Dordogne or to play golf at Souillac or go horse riding.
