The best start to Christmas
Penny and Kelly hosted us in their gorgeous home for our annual Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful few days complimented by the beautiful home and amazing surroundings.
As hosts, they were everything you would look for. Answering questions in the run up and being responsive to any queries during our stay.
Can't wait to return! Thanks again!
Sam and his friends were the perfect guests and we would recommend them to other hosts.
Great communication throughout from beginning to end.
We look forward to welcoming you again in the future!
Had a great time here, it's definitely even more impressive in real life than in the pics. Thanks for great stay!
Our stay was enjoyed by all. Our extended family ranges from the age of 10 to 84 years old. All members found the beds comfortable and the living areas suitable for their differing needs. The cinema was fantastic!
The Aga in the kitchen gave it en extra rustic feeling. The walk-in pantry was of added value as we self-catered.
Penny and Kelly (?) were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with a wheelchair ramp for the small step leading up from the bedrooms.
The gardens are lovely and well kept. We loved the hobbit shed with the outside bbq (even though we didn't use it) and the hot tub was popular.
We also saw all sorts of wildlife including partridges and Monkjack deer! The surrounding woods are a pleasure to walk through...although for the wheelchair these were slightly less accessible.
Beautiful house in stunning grounds
We were a group of 16 people of all ages, and we stayed at The Copse for a weekend.
We had a wonderful time. Everything was as described on the website.
Penny was a great host. She answered all the questions we asked while we were planning our stay.
A fantastic house superb for entertaining and accommodating a large group. Very chilled.

About Penny Holley
This house has been our family home for fifteen years and is much loved. It is now far too big for just me and my husband Tim and so we live in the cottage next door. We are on hand to help guests with whatever they need and meet them with keys. If we are away travelling our house manager Kelly is here to show you how everything works and our friend Kat will be in our house. We thoroughly enjoy the pleasure guests find in the house and its surroundings and are delighted it has a new lease of life.
Penny Holley purchased this House in 2000
Why Penny Holley chose Kidmore End
Its really close to London, so its possible to go to the theatre and get home afterwards, but we are in the countryside. No road noise, no aircraft noise and plenty of wildlife, including red kites and deer. We have thoroughly renovated the house using oak beams and framing. We added verandas and balconies and cladding the exterior in western red cedar and replaced all the windows with double and triple glazing. It is a brick built house and very warm and welcoming. We always have a project. The latest plan is to find somewhere for a tree house.
What makes this House unique
This is a carefully designed, cosy home, with plenty of books, dvd's ,music and furniture that we love and are very happy for you to use. We want this to feel like your own home from home. We love warm fires, beautiful gardens, great views, places to walk and lots of spaces to discover. But we also like to be near great cinemas and theatres, the river at Henley and all the brilliant country pubs.
