About this property

West Haven: Oceanfront Split Level Home on Oak Island's West End

4 Bedrooms | 2 Full Bathrooms
1 King | 4 Queens

Listen to the whisper of the wind through the sea grasses and the gentle crashing of the surf from the ocean-facing porch at West Haven. Located on one of the quietest stretches of West Beach, you'll find you're still walking distance of the Blue Water Point Marina and popular waterfront dining spot Lonerider's.

On the lower level, you'll find the open concept living space, decorated in soothing grays and blues and flooded in natural light. Gather together and settle on the couch, love seat or one of several armchairs to watch the big game. The wooden dining table seats eight comfortably, and a further three seats are available at the adjacent kitchen island.

The kitchen offers plenty of counter space and is fully stocked with all the cookware and appliances you need to prepare the catch of the day or family favorite recipes. Even though there's a dishwasher, you may find yourself washing everything by hand as you daydream to the stunning views of the Atlantic from the windows over the sink.

All bedrooms in the home provide a TV for personal entertainment. The mid-level floor features two bedrooms and a shared standard full bathroom with hall access. One bedroom is furnished with a king bed, while the other holds a queen.

On the upper floor, you'll find the final two bedrooms connected by a standard Jack and Jill style bathroom. The first bedroom has two queen beds, and the final bedroom features a single queen bed along with a pair of classic rocking chairs perfectly positioned to take in the magnificent views of the waves and shore.

When you're ready to hit the sand, beach access is just steps from your porch! Embrace the serenity of island life and plan your next retreat at West Haven.

Great view of Ocean

The location to the beach for this house is amazing. The dunes are lower so you can get an ocean view from the deck and the entire downstairs. The bedroom upstairs facing the ocean also is a spectacular view. The house is older and you can tell, there were a few things that I think could have been cleaned better and I let the property management know. They were super responsive. The location on the island is pretty far from things just be aware. If you are used to being at OKI and centrally located, this one is a bit far. If you don’t visit OKI often you probably won’t notice, it’s still a 15 minute drive, which is pretty typical places. I did make a recommendation to add curtains to the downstairs sliding doors. While during the day it’s gorgeous with the view of ocean, at night it’s a little odd to have that open and be able to see neighbors so close. I can’t speak for all 4 bedrooms as we only used two, but the larger king size bed is pretty uncomfortable. I haven’t found many houses at the beach that have good beds but I do want to mention it seemed a bit old if you’re looking for a super comfy bed. I think this place is great for younger couples, families(with older kids) and friends. I probably wouldn’t recommend for younger kids, or older grandparents. The stairs and the bathrooms aren’t really conducive to a larger crowd with older folks and little ones. Overall, it was great for what we needed for a couple days for me and my daughter.
