About this property

The Roost is a remodeled 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home. The house is beautifully furnished with top of line appliances, portable air conditioning, ceiling fans, wi-ifi, pottery barn bedding, furniture, etc. And yes we do have lake privileges!

Cuddle up next to the beautiful fireplace with one of the many board games, books, etc.

The Roost is a fully furnished home with two queen, one full and two twin beds. In the fully-equipped kitchen you will find everything you could ever need to prepare a special family feast including two ovens.

Downstairs enjoy the game room which has bumper pool, ping pong table, poker table, board games galore, popcorn cart, bar area, etc. (During COVID-19 some items will not be available per CDC guidance (board games, ping pong table, darts, etc.)

Outside on the massive deck you will find a BBQ with 2 patio tables & chairs, chaise lounge chairs and other deck furniture (not out in winter months). We have a basketball hoop, Kettler ping pong table and darts outside for your evening enjoyment.

The Roost is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown (many shops and restaurants, golf, tennis, swimming pool, pee-wee golf, skate park, local park where they have movies, concerts, and farmers market during the summer).

Cute, great location, but some annoying features

The cabin has a cute and attractive decor with hen and rooster theme. The location, within easy walking distance to town, was ideal. The owner responded promptly to questions or concerns. There are two window air conditioners that do a nice job of keeping the place comfortable. However, these annoying features were significant. First, there’s a low-hanging light fixture in the middle of the kitchen. I was frequently bashing my head on it. I am 6 foot four, but anyone over 6 foot one would have the same problem. There’s also a very low hanging light fixture in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The second problem is that there is no window cover on one of the bedroom windows, because of the presence of a window air conditioner. So the neighbor’s external lights shown in the window at night. Third, the bathroom has no window cover for the window out to the deck. So, although the section with the bathtub and the toilet is not visible, if you want to change your clothes in the washroom section, you can be seen from the outside. I think these problems should be easily fixable, and if that is done, I would say that otherwise The Roost was a nice spot for our vacation.

Fun family time

Our family truly enjoyed gathering at the roost! The kitchen was perfect to create memorable meals to share with our wonderful family, and the two ovens were so handy for our pizza-making dinner party. The living and dining room were such a comfortable place to spend time together.

Great property as advertised!

Great property as advertised! Very clean and well appointed property. Pride of ownership is obvious in this property and Tammy was responsive and honest throughout the process. You can’t beat the location of this property as it is within walking distance to restaurants, the Saturday concerts in the park and includes TH lake access. Can’t wait for our next stay!

Family Time

Home is very clean and everything works. The location is great and we enjoyed visiting the town. Lots happening in the evenings that made walking around fun! We loved hanging out on the patio in the evening. Kitchen was easy to use. I did most of my cooking at home and we reheated. That made the vacation more enjoyable for all!

I have been coming to Twain Harte since I was a child with my parents and brothers, then when I had children every summer I would bring them up to Twain Harte to enjoy swimming, hiking, bingo at the lake, movies in the redwoods, etc. After 40 years I finally was able to purchase a home in Twain Harte. Now every year we have a family reunion at The Roost and we love to celebrate birthdays and holidays here too. Hopefully this cabin will be passed down from generation to generation for years of memories.

Why they chose this property

This property has been fully renovated and has top of line furnishing (Pottery Barn, William Sonoma, Restoration Hardware, etc). Perfect for holiday dinners since we have two ovens. The massive deck is great for entertaining and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, or just soaking up the sun on one of our lounge chairs. Kids will not be bored as there is a basketball hoop, darts, numerous board games, bumper pool etc. Adults have everything from numerous televisions, blue ray/DVD player, Wifi, poker table, antique bar, popcorn cart, etc.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin has membership to two private lakes. We are not responsible for lake closures. Lakes are typically open from the end of May until the beginning of September. We are conveniently located, within walking distance to downtown, Twain Harte Lake, pee wee golf, local swimming pool, skate park, numerous restaurants, golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, park, grocery store, etc. We are only a five minute drive to Black Oak Casino for gambling, bowling, dining, dancing and restaurants. There are numerous wineries and lakes in the area. Dodge Ridge is close for your skiing needs and Leland High Sierra snowplay is a short drive up the hill. During the winter you are a 5 minutes drive to the ice skating rink. We are approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from Yosemite. There are many local places of interest to visit like Railtown 1897, Columbia State Park, Carson Hill, Sierra Glen Ranch (pick summer fruits or cut down a Christmas Tree), Chicken Ranch Bingo and Casino and more. Many lakes for water skiing, tubing and fishing.
