Overall okay but I will not stay again
I contacted the manager twice by message and left a voicemail once in January. I needed to know about the cancellation process bc my party of 12 was possibly going to be a party of 6 and I didn't need a house this big. I never heard back from the property manager. I kept the reservation bc I didn't know until about 3 weeks before that the other family was not going with us and it was too late to cancel at that point.
We did get to check in early on the day of check in for an additional cost. The lady we spoke to that day was great and got us in quickly.
The house is large and we did have plenty of room for everyone.
However, there were lots of things that frustrated me. There was one garbage bag and one dish washer detergent tab. There was no clothes washer tabs. There are notes that specify that there is recycling and when to put the can out and where to put the can and everything. However, there is no recycling bin inside the house. There is nothing that specifies what to recycle. Is it just plastic or cans or paper or what?
The morning after we got there, we fixed breakfast. After we ate, we were doing the dishes. There was some scrambled eggs left on a plate. I turned on the garbage disposal and it didn't work. I called Monday to let them know about it not working. I was told immediately that it was working when we got there. I felt that I was being accused of braking it when we had not done anything to it.
I went to look for the iron and ironing board on Sunday. I would assume that it would be in the laundry room. I finally found it in an upstairs bedroom closet the following Saturday morning when we were leaving...
Also, the bath clothes that are there are threadbare. You can see right through them. And the neighbors were loud all hours of the day and night.
The price was great for a week. But I guess you get what you pay for...
Message to all HomeAway - Vrbo users. As you can by reading all the previous reviews, this home is very nice, clean and well-maintained. It's spacious, located in a safe and gated newer community close to the parks and the restaurants. It has a private pool and spa (can be heated - against additional payment) and is located in front of the clubhouse (free access: heated pool and spa, gym...). We have terms and conditions regarding cancellation like all properties that are advertised online. Guests are able to cancel 60+ days prior to arrival and get a refund. This is a general setting / condition for most homes on HomeAway an Vrbo. The reason is that we block the properties for guests. So unfortunately for this guest, we could not cancel their reservation and issue them a full refund 3 weeks only prior to check-in. It would have been unfair to the owner of the house who blocked his home for several months. Regarding amenities: all our guests are informed prior to arrival that the property is rented on a self-catering basis: we send this information even before the booking is confirmed (it's part of our quote). We provide 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 soap per bathroom and sink. 1 dishwasher tablet, 1 trash bag. This is a starter kit. Guests have to buy their own or bring their own for the rest of the stay. This is also a global standard on the vacation rental market in Orlando. As for trash rules: they are clearly explained in the guests book. All our guests also receive emails to explain them when trash is collected and what to do with the trash. We always inspect our homes prior to each and every arrival. This is why our homes are clean, well-maintained when guests arrive. Whenever something is wrong (it can happen) we report it and get it fixed by the time the guests arrive or we inform them of the issue and actions that will be taken. In this case, we knew that the trash disposal was working as it was tested prior to arrival. This guest was obviously not ready to acknowledge that she or someone of her party blocked the trash disposal. We hope that this explanation makes sense and will help you, together will all previous reviews to make up your mind and book this very beautiful and spacious home.
Will stay again
This is our second year taking the kids to Legoland but this year we went away from using a Legoland preferred rental. We were not disappointed! The pool was great, the house was clean, there was more then enough space for us (5 adults and 3 kids) and location was right in the middle between Orlando and Winter Haven (Legoland). We would recommend this home and will book it again! We bought our own pool towels and would recommend bringing a blender as the house didn't have one. We don't cook on vacation that much but the pans were a little worn and could use replacing. Management company was responsive and check out was easy.
Beautiful house. Super clean. Enough space for everyone. The playroom needs to be update. I would definitely stay again. Recommended!
