Perfect for our needs
This cottage is located on a very quiet street with easy access to beaches and several restaurants of differing types. I really enjoyed having a quiet cup of coffee on the porch in the morning. An earlier review indicated that there was a lack of space for storage in the cottage. The second bedroom (the one with the bunk bed) no longer has the additional twin bed in it that is shown in the pictures, which gives more space in that room. Both bedrooms have a small closet which was adequate for our needs. The cottage had all that we needed in the kitchen, and if we stay again we will be able to bring even less because we brought some things that were provided in the unit. We did find that the hot water was quite hot, and we had to be very careful (that really seemed to be the only issue we had). If we go to the Cape again, we will definitely consider staying here.
Nice location, but the furnishing is pretty old and pretty used.
We stayed a week in this cottage with a baby. The cottage was not very clean and furnishing was old. The child was crawling on the floor of the cottage and it was not very hygienic. The AC units were not cooling the air sufficiently well for a comfortable stay. Overall we expected a better facility. Also, the rental conditions required to clean the cottage, wash the dishes, clean the grill and etc after your stay and check out at 10 am. We had to wake up at 7 am on the day of the departure just to be able to do all the required cleaning by 10 am deadline. We rented other properties before and such an extensive cleaning was never required. On the positive side the location is within walking distance from the beach.
A Nice Property for 2 Adults
Overall, a nicely maintained classic Cape Cod cottage, convenient to the beach. We found it adequate for 2 adults (that was us), but it's quite small for more than 2 plus maybe one child. The rooms are just too small with very little storage space if you're occupying both bedrooms. The setting is nice....it sits in the middle of the owner's expansive lawn, with is very nicely landscaped. Strangely, the owners, though in residence for the week we stayed, made no attempt at communication other than an initial 1-minute visit to give us the wi-fi password. Not a problem, just thought it unusual as they frequently sat on their patio in clear view of the cottage. The property has 2 window air conditioners....a big plus during hot weather and not commonly found in similar properties at the Cape. Also a screened-in porch, another plus, and the customary outdoor shower (brand new). Just one word of warning....the hot water is scaldingly (is that a word?) hot.....a real danger to young children, in our opinion. In conclusion, a nice classic Cape cottage at a reasonable price, suitable for 2, that we would consider renting again.
