About Albert & Colleen Moore
When you visit we will likely be around the farm doing chores or a project, and would love to say hello, or offer suggestions for getting around the area, if needed. Although the cottage is not the only residence on the farm, many guests have commented that it still feels very private and secluded.

Why Albert & Colleen Moore chose Harrodsburg
Glenriver Cottage is centrally located on a beautiful and historic farm. If you are looking to become immersed in history and quiet rolling hills and streams, this is a great place to do so. Many people enjoy the privacy of a rural location, and yet only minutes from the big city. For those visiting Central Kentucky for a wedding, graduation, reunion, or other occasions, we are a great alternative to the hotel, with room to spread out, eat at home if desired, and enjoy the outdoors.
What makes this Cottage unique
Central Kentucky's rural surroundings, beauty and history makes it a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle. If you enjoy bourbon, horses, history, or the outdoors, this is a special place you will enjoy. If you desire to relax while you're here and "stay home", you can fish in the river, enjoy our game room or have a fire in the outdoor area. There's a charcoal grill and we don't mind a bit if you want to invite your relatives over! Harrodsburg is a charming small town, with a few good places to eat, a great historical archive and an actual log fort. Downtown there is some antique shops and a very nice arts shop, and it's a short drive to many other unique and fun towns and attractions. If you have not been to a distillery, you want to be sure to venture out to Four Roses or Makers Mark or any other that welcomes visitors. The smell of the yeast cooking the brew that goes into the giant copper stills is something not to be missed. Several world class horse farms are about 30 minutes away , where you can see up close the breeding and sale operation of Thoroughbreds. If you are a history lover, there are Civil War battlefields and sites, old mansions, and more.

Nice to have our own space
We came to Harrodsburg for the holidays. It was wonderful to have a space of our own while visiting family. We loved the space and layout of the home. Especially the full circle our son and others little ones could run through the house. It was also wonderful to have Colleen next door for any needs, though we didn’t have any :)
August in Harrodsburg
We cannot say enough about the great hosts Coleen and Albert. Super nice and accommodating. The little house was everything we wanted for a Kentucky vacation. We felt at home from the day we arrived, surely would stay again and again.
Another stay less than a year later
This time it was summertime. Fishing, swimming in the river and just hanging out outside. There are snapper turtles in the river out back but they didn't bother my son and me when we went swimming. We love this place the cozy feel of the cottage and the wide open outdoors. We stay there the entire week. I cook and we don't need to go anywhere else except to Wal-Mart 5 minutes away. My dogs love to run the property. Colleen and Albert are so wonderful we are greeted when we get there and when we leave also if we need anything. The house is clean and the beds are always comfortable. I know we'll be staying there again.
Wonderful! Definitely not what I expected! Worth every penny I spent to stay there!
The owners live onsite. They're awesome. There is a fire pit, grill, picnic table and swing set for young children; great for a family cookout. The backyard is huge. The beds were very comfortable. Very large living room. Master suite was very large. The half bathroom was big too. Lots of closet space. The other bedroom was a little small but bed was comfortable. Couches were comfortable too. Spacious kitchen with everything you need to cook. My dogs loved it. They were allowed to run the property. Bring your fishing pole, there is a deep stream on the back of the property with a deck. The game room had a pool table with a fridge and workout equipment. I would definitely love to stay again and I probably will. Wal-Mart and Kroger is within 2 miles from the house.
So glad Dawn and family enjoyed their stay! Colleen & Albert Moore
We would rent this cottage again!
We were greeted by Colleen who was most gracious. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable, and we had the privacy we really wanted, as we are caregivers to my in-laws who live on our farm with us. We did not get to meet Albert due to a medical emergency on my part, shortening our stay. However, when Colleen and Albert learned of our situation, they were most gracious and offered flexibility to us in regard to the rental if we needed it. Colleen, we also loved your homemade potato soup! This cottage is great for a couple like us ,wanting to unwind, or for a group or family wanting to visit the area. I would highly recommend this rental and I was very blessed by the concern our hosts followed up with on my behalf. If we are in the area again, I believe we will stay there again. Thank you Colleen and Albert! And please know I am recovering well ! Deb Reinhardt-Brocious
Cozy and comfy cottage.
Our family of five and our dog enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was clean and very comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. Our hosts were very pleasant. We recommend this property and will look into staying there on our next visit to KY. The Robinson's from PA.
Central Kentucky is the heart of the Bourbon Trail, home to many of the worlds finest distilleries, as well as historic sites, small galleries, and antique shops. All to be found on beautiful windy country roads, set among creeks, pastures, and farms.
