You will love staying at this large home! It has 3 levels of space to spread out including two living rooms, and is ideal for larger groups who don't want to feel cramped! The master suite upstairs features vaulted ceilings, a large balcony with lovely views, and an HDTV. The master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and shower with 7 heads! Just outside this master suite is a library and office area, ideal for getting a little work or homework done. The main level includes 2 bedrooms with a full bathroom, as well as the open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen space. 20 foot ceilings enhance the spacious feel in an already generous space. Comfy leather furniture surround a gas fireplace and entertainment center with HDTV, Blu-Ray player, and stereo system that is compatible with smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The dining set is made from special rose wood beams reclaimed after a massive earthquake in India. In fact, you'll take note of the high quality wood and craftsmanship throughout this home. The kitchen is large enough for several people at once and has a large peninsula perfect for appetizers or meals. Also on this level, there is a nice large wraparound deck with covered area for grilling or dining no matter the weather. There is even a little pass through window from the Kitchen to the Grill. The whole lower level is one large master suite. It includes a Kitchenette, a dining or game table, lounge area, Queen bed, and a nice bathroom, with private access to outside. The lounge area has a sofa and armchair surrounding a large HDTV, which is also ideally positioned for viewing from the bed. The bed is a custom built murphy bed, so you can easily get it out of the way once you're up for the day, yet you have a real bed, and in this case, a nice mattress! The home is located just across Highway 34 from Shadow Mountain Lake, which means convenient access to the Green Ridge boat ramp. The home is just far enough from 34 to prevent any highway noise, yet still provides quick and easy access to everything in the area. Shadow Mountain Lake is less than a mile away, Lake Granby is only 2 miles, and Downtown Grand Lake is only 5 miles from your door.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. Additional fees will apply for more than 1 dog.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.

** You will have the entire home to yourself during your stay. Please note the owner of the home does have his workshop and apartment across the driveway. He is sometimes there during guest stays if you need anything. He keeps to himself but we want to make sure that guests are aware they might see his vehicle or him coming and going.

Peaceful Retreat with Loads of Character
We booked this place for a stay with our young adult children and father-in-law. The location was perfect for our visits to Shadow Mountain Lake and Willow Creek Reservoir and for visiting the shops and sights in Grand Lake. The property location was secluded yet not far off Hwy 34. We enjoyed the fire pit and especially appreciated being able to bring our dog. The house itself is so impressive, being built with reclaimed materials and gorgeous pine. We enjoyed meals and morning coffee on the wraparound porch and there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The description of the property and amenities was accurate and even exceeded our expectations. The place has everything you need as a home base for all your Grand County adventures!

The home was just the right size for our family. Easy access to the town of Grand Lake. Lots of room for people to spread out and enjoy the home. Plenty of TV's , with great living room seating. Large kitchen,with work space to create family dinners. Really, enjoyed the home.

Fabulous home in Grand county
We just got back from a great stay at Agate Lodge home. It was such a relaxing few days. The house was fabulous. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we have stayed at: we cooked in almost all of our meals and really everything we needed was there. The beds were all very comfortable. There is lots of space for relaxing. We unfortunately had a few rainy afternoons and there we could all spread out for the afternoons. The college kids loved the large TV downstairs. We did a lot of hiking, biking and water sports: lots to do close by. It was very quiet and peaceful, not a place for anyone looking for nightlife, but fantastic if you love peace and tranquility. We did not use Grand Lake much, but it is a close drive for those that would want to use more. We did get pizza from Grand Lake for our last night and certainly close enough that the pizza was still warm when we got back (PS great pizza from white buffalo). Our dog loved the stay also! We had one question and Joe responded to us immediately. He is great to work with.
