Seasongs is a charming one-story, fully furnished cottage with a spacious enclosed yard and large screened porch. The cottage is one house away from West Road/Pillory beach on beautiful Grand Turk Island. A quaint island reminiscent of “Old Caribbean” before the days of high rises and crowds, Grand Turk is a short hop by commuter plane from the far more crowded resort island of Providenciales (Provo).
Downshift to beach life and island time! Get your morning dose of Vitamin Sea looking out at the water as you drink your morning coffee on the front patio. Grab a beach towel and walk 20 yards to the pristine, powdery white sand beach and calm turquoise water. Wade out to swim or snorkel. Later, stroll down to the local fish market and buy today’s catch to barbecue for dinner.
We fell in love with the Grand Turk Island’s peaceful charm, friendly people and exceptional diving during our first visit in 2014. Who doesn't want to live on an island! Seasongs is a Bermuda-style house, built in 1942. The cottage has tons of character and has been fully refurbished with all modern comforts and a local property manager is available to assist guests. The house is stylish, very comfortable and completely unfussy - a place where you can truly relax, knowing that everything has been provided for.
Staying in a house with a yard (as opposed to a condo or an apartment) has some real advantages - there's no one above, below or next to you. The back yard and screened porch are fully private. Unlike places directly on the beach, no one can walk by and look in. Both the front and back yard are enclosed - guests with young kids have said they loved this. The tree-shaded patios and screened porch are ideal for when you want to be outside but not in the sun.
When you’ve had enough relaxing, there are plenty of activities – horseback riding along the beach, biking around the island on one of our beach cruisers, exploring the history and culture of Grand Turk and the TCI at the Turks & Caicos National Museum, people-watching at one of the nearby restaurant bars. If you’re inclined, visit the Cruise Center on the south end of the island (about 4 miles away) when a cruise ship is in for shopping and drinks at the Margaritaville Bar.
Then, there’s the diving! World-class diving along the 8-mile long Grand Turk Wall in the Columbus National Marine Park, suitable for beginner or expert divers. There are excellent dive shops; dive boats can reach most of the best diving in minutes. Great snorkeling is available right off the beach by the house, or you can go out with one of the dive shops or from the beach resort a few steps up the road.
Here’s what you’ll enjoy at Seasongs:
• A breezy open-plan living/dining room with some ocean views from the living room
• A cook's kitchen with sharp knives and everything else you'll need
• Table settings for 8+
• High-quality linens and towels, including beach towels
• Full A/C and ceiling fans throughout the house
• WiFi fast enough for Skype and streaming
• Smart TV
• Truly comfortable sleeping for 5: a king bed, a sectional sofa that converts to a queen and a twin daybed
• Office area with desk
• 2 cruiser bikes
• A large screened-in porch with comfortable chairs and a big dining table
• Fully enclosed yard (good place for small kids to play) with two patios, a barbecue grill and a hammock, plus room to park a golf cart or rental car in the front yard
• Markets, restaurants and island businesses only a short walk away
A villa was built between Seasongs and the beach a few years ago. While we gave up some of our ocean view, there is public access to the beach directly in front of the house and the lovely sunsets are always there to enjoy with a glass of wine on the patio.
