- english, spanish
I landed in Manuel Antonio from the UK in 2007 on an adventure to study spanish and scuba dive. I fell in love with the country, the culture, the language and wanted to explore more. I made my travels around Latin America and somehow always ended up back in Costa Rica to visit friends. 2.5 years after my first visit I made the decision to stay and have loved it ever since. The air is fresh, the sun is always shining and people live day-to-day based on "pura vida" - the national phrase which means "pure life"!

This place was very nice and the price was really good. Hazel was easy to get in touch with and very quick to respond. The local bus stop was just up the road if you don’t have a car. Very easy to go to beach and shopping in Quepos.
What a fabulous place. Hazel had all the little extras that help you have the perfect vacation. Although she was unavailable to meet, she responded with any questions immediately upon being asked. The apartment was quite cozy, with a nice whirlpool tub. Outside is a nice pool surrounded by jungle. If you look close you can see a sloth that makes it's home in one of the trees, along with any number of other wild animals. A short walk to the street where you can pick up a bus or taxi to take you anywhere in the area. We really enjoyed our stay!
Very nice place!
We had a great time in Costa Rica. This VRBO was very nice and Hazel was great and very helpful. The layout of the room was perfect. We were able to cook several meals in the kitchenette. Also the bathroom, with the shower and large tub, was super nice. The condominium area has a nice pool and beautiful jungle setting. It was in walking distance of Quepos, where we went to the marina, coffee shops in town, and a nice Friday/Saturday farmers’ market. It was also within walking distance of a secluded beach. The other direction, towards Mauuel Antonio, you really should take the bus. The main road doesn’t really have a sidewalk or even a shoulder. The bus stop is very close by. It was about 60 cents to ride and was very easy to figure out. Manuel Antonio has lots of restaurants along the road, a beautiful beach, and access to the National Park (which is amazing). Overall this was a perfect rental for a couple in a beautiful location. It is very hilly, but we either took the bus or a cab or just enjoyed the warm weather and exercise of walking the hills to Quepos. We went offshore fishing, got massages, saw monkeys, dolphins, hermit crabs, and a sloth!
We stayed 5 days in this property and really enjoyed it. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the beauty of Chaman. We had 2 sloths in the trees just outside our room that we watched every day. Hazel, the property manager, was very kind and helpful. She booked a couple of tours for us and was very thorough when we first arrived about explaining everything so that we were very comfortable with getting around and enjoying the area. I would definitely stay here again!
What a great place!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very comfortable. The pool was a great way to end our day and the entire complex and apartment were very clean. Thank you Hazel!!
