The flat is located in the heart of Athens. Kolonaki is rightly considered the most elegant and trendy neighborhood of Athens, with many high end boutiques, distinguished bars and chic restaurants. Athenians from all over the city flock to the cafes to see and be seen, and jetsetters, politicians and artists mingle with the crowd. It is also an old neighborhood with a cosmopolitan history and its own character. The main attractions in Kolonaki area are the renowned Benaki Museum with its outstanding collections, the Museum of Cycladic Art dedicated to the ancient cultures of the Aegean and Cyprus focusing on Cycladic Art, and the Byzantine Museum with religious artefacts of the Byzantine and later periods from all over Greece. The National Park on Irodou Attikou street is a cool oasis in summer and visitors always enjoy the change of the guard at the Presidential Mansion right opposite. It is close to all the sighseeings of Athens like Syntagma square, Acropolis, national Parliament, Ermou str. (all shops are there), agia irini square (excellent nighlife), monastiraki area (bars, traditional shops, ancient sightseeings), Zappio megaro, Kalimarmaro Stadium, Lycabetous hill. In Kolonaki area you can find many nice bars, clubs, restaurants and Starbucks coffee shop is next to the entrance of the flat. Start off in Plateia Kolonaki and Plateia Dexameni, the main shopping street of Patriarchou Ioakim, and investigate the parallel streets up from it, such as Haritos, with its mixture of old neoclassical houses, upscale modern flats, and art galleries. Speusippou, which turns into quiet Souidias, is the home of the Gennadius Library. Further up the streets, climb steeply to the Lycavettos funicular station. If you're ambitious and energetic, you can climb to the top streets which to your left circle the rim of Lykabetous. On this path, from the cross streets and some spaces where there are no buildings, you can glimpse spectacular views of Athens, some of them including the Acropolis.
Getting around
Metro station is 3' walking distance (Evagelismos station) and this specific line (blue line) goes straight to the airport. 5' walking is the metro of Syntagma. If you come by car there are many parking spots which are chargeable. You can buy a parking card which costs 1€/hour from local mini markets. The hospitals are very closed by, also children hospitals. Bars , coffee shops , bakeries and restaurants as well as shops are one foot step! In this location you will find open restaurants 24/7! Lycabetous cable car in 10 min walk to see the most beautiful view of the highest spot of Athens opposite acropolis! Museums are 5 min walk. Acropolis is 15 min walk! Zappeio gardens 15 min walk!
