Three Cabin, two bath spacious modern cruising sailboat
Brian and Katie Kennedy
About Brian and Katie Kennedy
We (Kate and Brian) live in Olympia with our three children, two dogs, one cat, a bunny and nine chickens. When were not tending our flock, driving to and from soccer practice or working, we spend as much time on our boat as we can.
Brian and Katie Kennedy purchased this Boat in 2015
Why Brian and Katie Kennedy chose Olympia
We bought our 42 ft. Catalina because of its three cabins, beautiful interior and its "sail-ability". We love where it is moored in downtown Olympia at Percival Landing. The evening views of the sunsets over the Olympics are sublime along with the connection to the downtown small urban scene make this a perfect place to keep a boat.
What makes this Boat unique
Our boat is moored behind a locked gate at One Tree Island Marina which is located on Olympia's historic Percival Landing Boardwalk. From the cockpit and the bow you can see the State Capital Building, Budd Bay and on a clear day you can see the snow capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains. A glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the am in the cockpit at waters edge (literally) is such a sweet experience.

It was an interesting stay and was a great location!
It was an interesting stay in a great location. We would love to do it again but maybe in warmer weather. Heating up the boat took awhile each time. I missed being able to see local tv for the weather reports. Maybe it was possible to do...but did not see that in the instruction book. The code to the public showers worked, but the showers were key locked and we were not able to use them.
Namaste provided us a cozy stay for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon! It far exceed any expectation. The bed was comfortable, the shower was surprisingly hot (we are both tall and had to slouch a bit, but nothing to complain about!) Everything was easy to work and the instructions were easy to follow. Brian was easy to communicate with. It was the perfect way to start a relaxing vacation. We loved Namaste!
Interesting in beautiful setting
The boat was clean, equipped, and accessible for most people You-tube videos should be reviewed ahead of time as recommended by owners esp. re marine toilet. Parking is problematic but it is worth knowing that enforcement is limited to working hours. Not a lot of room for suitcases so consider a small bag instead.
Sleeping on a sailboat was such fun! Would recommend this to others.
Wonderful Time! Exceeded Expectations!
I don’t normally do reviews, however this exceeded our expectations! Walking distance to everything (including the Capital). Sitting out with coffee watching the seals was a favorite! For someone that has never experienced life in a boat it was a great experience and something we will do again! Brian/Katie are very personable and very in tune to your comforts.
An enchanting experience
Our weekend on the Namaste was a wonderful experience. It was cold outside but warm inside. All the comforts and extras like movies, books and games. Our grandchildren came to visit and watched overboard and played clue. Bonus was the boat Christmas parade right in front of us. The view was awesome and we enjoyed coffee outside while watching the seals play. We would love to do this again on our next visit. Highly recommend.
