About this property

This is a 240 acre working cattle farm in the central valley. It is 15 minutes to Atenas for groceries, restaurants, shops etc., 1/2 hour to/from SJO airport and 50 minutes to the Pacific beaches. It is a very different experience being so close to everything and yet far from the hubbub with forests, views, trails, birds, wildlife, cows and plenty to do or just relax and enjoy the fresh air and spectacular views. A wide array of birds and wildlife. Trails to walk and then a pool with perfect temperature water. This is an elegant outdoors experience. Weather is terrific.

Relaxing, quiet, sense of freedom and beautiful. Couldn't have asked for a better place to unwind.

Very beautiful home. Surrounded by birds, cows, horses and even a coyote that came in to drink water at the horse trough. Had a wonderful time! It seemed so far away and yet it was only minutes from Atenas and from the Pacific coast. Next time I will stay and make this my home base.

I feel very privileged and fortunate to live in this remote but near environment surrounded by outstanding views, trees, birds of all types, wildlife and gorgeous cows. This is a 240 acre property. It is a magical place! There are 11 people living on the property and we are all here to help in anyway so that your stay at Rancho Montecito is memorable, fun and relaxing. So far away and yet so close. No neighbors except for wildlife, cattle, dogs, chickens and turkeys. Quiet, beautiful, and relaxing far from the maddening crowd. The owner lives in the main house next to the guest house or "Rancho" and is available if you need anything.
