Edzell - Waterfront Luxury on Lake Jindabyne in the Australian Snowy Mountains
Edzell is a large, secluded lakefront house on one of the most sort after locations in the Snowy Mountains region. Sitting directly on the edge of beautiful Lake Jindabyne with commanding views of the lake, mountains and sky. It is a architecturally designed home featuring stone fireplaces, stone bar, large windows and split levels.
The house offers a self contained style of holiday accommodation. It is only let to one party of guests to ensure total privacy and comfort. Unlike many other properties in Jindabyne, it is situated on a very large parcel of land, surrounded by mature native trees and shrubs. The landscaped garden features snow gums, banksia, grevilleas, correas and snow daisies. A large variety of beautiful native birds frequent the garden including blue wrens, New Holland honeyeaters, Eastern spinebills, pee wee, crimson Rosella's and black cockatoo.
The grounds also include a tennis court (with a basketball net and badminton set), swing set, 2 water features, dry creek bed, fire pit and stone pavilion. The front lawn rolls down to native grasses and rocks which fringe the Jindabyne lake shoreline. The lake can be easily reached by walking the gentle slope in front of the house to a sandy beach.
The house and grounds provide an ideal place to relax in summer or winter and enjoy either alpine sports, trout fishing, water sports or cycling, sailing, high country walks and nature pursuits. A large stone terrace sits across the front of the house with comfortable seating to enable guests to watch the spectacular sunsets, flying ducks or rising trout.
On the doorstep of the Kosciusko National Park it is ideally located for people who wish to ski or snow board in Thredbo, Perisher Valley, Guthega or Charlottes Pass ski resorts. Summer walks on the many marked trails in the Kosciusko National Park to observe displays of summer flowers, glacial lakes or alpine views are very popular. Fishing for trout or yabbies directly in front of the house is a very pleasant way to spend an evening. Swimming in the lake from the beach below the garden is most enjoyable for young and old.
The house is located in East Jindabyne which is only a 10 minute drive from the township of Jindabyne which contains many restaurants, a large supermarket, bakery, ski hire, cinema, pubs, boutique and gift shops and a medical center. The Kosciusko Park Information Centre is also positioned in the center of the Jindabyne township.
The large house accommodates 10 guests very comfortably in 5 bedrooms with 4.5 bathrooms and 2 lounge rooms. The house offers air conditioning, a three way stone fireplace, sunken dining room, well equipped Tasmanian oak kitchen, observation tower, pool table, complimentary WiFi and Fox(cable )TV with surround sound. Why they chose this property
Lake Jindabyne has always been our favorite holiday destination. After spending many Easter and November holidays trout fishing and July holidays skiing we knew that this area was our ideal holiday house location. Originally purchased as a bare parcel of land with a small fishing cabin, we have added a large house and extended it twice over a 20 year period. The house is surrounded by an large native garden which has been progressively expanded over many years. It now contains a dry creek bed, two water features, fire pit, tennis court, swing set and thousands of plants. Mature snow gums, flowering bushes and many varieties of Australian native birds grace the garden. Its position on the very edge of Lake Jindabyne allowing it expansive views of the lake, sky and mountains makes this house very special.
