This unit enjoys a terrific location within Sun Peaks and our past units were comfortable, clean, and well appointed.
While this unit was very clean, it was not well appointed or comfortable.
For example, the studio has terrible beds. The primary bed is a pull-down "Murphy" style bed, which in itself is no problem but this particular bed is horribly worn out. The mattress is thin and uncomfortable, and the frame is old and worn resulting in squeaks and noise at every motion. It made it impossible for my wife and for me to get any real sleep, as we were constantly awakened by the frame noise and general discomfort.
On our second night, we tried the unit's sofa hide-a-bed, and it was also uncomfortable with a too thin mattress and poor frame supports. And we are not big or heavy people.
Additionally, the unit was missing some very simple, useful items such as a reading lamp, a can opener, a decent sharp cutting knife, or a coffee bean grinder. Equally surprising was the low quantity and quality of the dishes, glassware, and silverware, particularly the forks. They truly looked like children's silverware so not very useful for an adult. Given Sun Peaks can experience large amounts of snowfall, it was also very surprising to not find a snow shovel, or any place to store snow gear.
Fortunately, the Bear Country property managers were good to work with and they did their best to make this right. We were fairly treated and received an appropriate and satisfactory response.
