Why Patricia Ridoutt chose Katoomba
Our house is like a ‘lovely old lady’ that requires constant love, care and attention. It is full of old world charm as it retains all its features, imperfections and peculiarities which makes it unique and very interesting. It is over 100 years old but stands proud and strong and continues to provide a warm, comfortable, pleasant and safe environment where to relax and leave behind the daily demands of busy lives.

We will be back!
Historic cottage, warm and inviting. Filled with beautiful antiques and interesting artwork. The furnishings were very comfortable and we found our stay very relaxing. Everything we needed was provided, and with the shops on your back door step it was very convenient! I spent too much money on antiques being inspired by the lovely interior decoration my favorite colors are green and pink which feature heavily in the color scheme. The sun filled bathroom was picturesque and I found my self almost enjoying this room as much as the lounge where we sat each night by the fire on the very comfortable Green lounge relaxing whilst eating cheese we purchased from the cellars (A must do while your there) and drinking Red wine. Note. if your into craft beer, cheese & wine be careful, I spent too much money there too. The gardens were quaint the bars, cafe's and restaurants amazing. Another note. Make sure to book your restaurant ahead of time as they book out very early Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights. We had the most relaxing time coming from Penrith we didn't even have far to drive. I was colder when I got back to Penrith than I had been for the entire weekend in Katoomba!! The House has more than adequate heating, pillows and bedding and the sun during the days was amazing! Our stay was end of June. We cant wait to go back next year.
Thank you Amanda for your lovely and comprehensive review. It was a pleasure hosting you and would be very happy to have you back! Thank you for the great care you took of my place.
Cosy cottage with open fireplace
Enjoyed the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in this gorgeous cottage.
Very comfortable, clean and extremely convenient to local shops, cafes & restaurants (a little laneway from backyard made for a quick stroll to Katoomba Main Street).
Full of eclectic treasures, a fantastic view from the sunroom and a beautiful open fireplace in the lounge room made for a charming weekend away.
Perfect for families with older children.
Very glad to hear that you enjoyed the long weekend at my place and the mountains.
The house was amazing, very well equipped, very clean, decorated so nice. Also Patricia is very kind and helpful host. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Patricia😊
Dear Aysegul, sorry for the late reply but it's never too late to say thank you for your lovely review. Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.
Beautifully restored and furnished 1910 house, spacious and ideally situated .
A wonderfully comfortable and well equipped house, with a combination of traditional classical furnishings plus all the modern features you would want. Several outside seating areas to catch a view and the sun. A welcome basket of treats, and a supply of some basic kitchen items. Walking distance to large grocery stores, on street parking and easy access to the surrounding towns and villages with great hiking trails. Couldn’t have been nicer. A thoughtful and generous host!
Thank you Penny for your lovely review. So glad to learn that you had a nice time at my place and the Blue Mountains! Hope you had a safe trip back home. Regards, Patricia
Wonderful family getaway!
A lovely cottage in close proximity to everything for our families 3 night stay in Katoomba. We had lovely evenings sitting by the fire, eating marshmallows and playing cards. I did feel a little exposed in the shower, frosted glass on lower window but no high window coverings.
Patricia's communication was excellent, and we would definitely stay again! Thank you
So glad to hear that you had a nice time at my place and the mountains. Yes, evenings by the fireplace are particularly pleasant. I couldn’t help but smile a bit when I read your comment about ‘feeling a little exposed in the shower’ – we’ll do something about it so you feel comfortable if you visit again. Thanks for the feedback. It was a pleasure dealing with you and your family and I’m very grateful for the great care you took of my place. All the best, Patricia.
A 110 yr old property literally 2 minute walk to Katoomba Town Centre. Oozing with charm. Reasonably well maintained with many original features. Comfortable beds in both the bedrooms (3rd bedroom was locked up). An amazing sun room with lead lit windows. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen - all this made up for the awful winter-like weather! But gave a good reason to explore Jenolan Caves!!! The heating throughout the house was definitely much needed. Will definitely love to come back
Glad to hear that you were able to enjoy our place and the mountains despite the wet and cold weather you had. Happy to have you back anytime.
PS: I didn't get a chance to reply earlier.
