Quiet retreat where Olympic Mountain water rushes by outside the front door

About Greg & Michelle Kapitan
Greg and I love traveling which is how we found the Olympic Peninsula. Greg and I met in Salt Lake City Utah which is where I am from originally. We have three adult children who all live in Utah (Salt Lake and Utah Counties) and 7 grandchildren ranging from age 3 - 11 so we visit Utah often as well. Greg was born in the Bronx New York and raised on Long Island moving to Pensacola FL in his late teens with his parents, then to Texas to start a business, eventually landing in Utah where we met. We enjoy exploring new places, love hiking, dancing, live music, spiritual practice, meeting new people, spending time with our children/grandchildren and friends as well as getting involved in the communities we live in whether it be Utah, Washington, Florida or previously Texas where we lived for business for 4 years. As soon as we arrived on the Olympic Peninsula, we fell in love with the area, where the mountains greet the sea, we found amazing with the Olympic Mountains to the South and the Strait of Juan de Fuca (and Victora BC among many islands) to the North . . . so much to explore! We look forward to revising and adding more about us!

Why Greg & Michelle Kapitan chose Port Angeles
Unique property located next to Valley creek, in the valley, on a dead end street is the last home on the left with the creek separating it from Valley Street. The home is accessed several lots down by way of a lane with only 4 homes on it. The home next door is vacant most of the time, their is no home directly across the street. Wild life frequents the property, we often have deer grazing, an owl spends time around the creek on the lane, many birds and we've captured shots of raccoons and fox on the property from the security cameras. It is just a 3 minute drive or .07 mile walk to downtown where there is a variety of dining, shopping and activities available as well as the strait of Juan de Fuca and the Discovery Trail. At the dead end of the street is a trail along the creek as well. Ediz Hook is just a 10 minute drive, just 3.7 miles makes for a wonderful bike ride if you have a bike. For a day trip, Cape Flattery and Neah Bay (the furthest NW corner of Washington, is worth the 1 hr 42 minute drive to Neah Bay with Cape Flattery righter there (Cape Flattery is just 1 hr 54 minute drive from the cottage, they are just 14 minutes from one another.
What makes this Cottage unique

Cabin hidden in the middle of town!
We loved our week in the cabin by the creek so much. It's unbelievable that the house is an antique because it was so well renovated and decorated. Our bedroom on the first floor was roomy and comfortable (oh so comfortable!) and the house had space upstairs for all the rest of our family. There are so many places outside to relax and gather- the porch, the swing, the fire pit... and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The house had great energy- a happy soul. The walk into town was short, and the location was conveniently near a small organic grocery store and a large supermarket. The house was in perfect condition and I wish we could have stayed for a month. Children would love running around outside and exploring the creek. If we had stayed just a few more weeks, the blackberries would have been ripe. As it was, the thimbleberries were ripe, and so I picked those out of the back yard and baked a cobbler! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing property with the world to enjoy!
Oasis in the Port Angeles community
The place was a patch of privacy in a landscape of close together housing units.
Good location, clean and cute
We enjoyed our stay in PA. The location is right in town but also is surrounded by a wooded area. We enjoyed seeing the deer walk down street. The house was clean and had everything we needed.

Quiet location close to everything in Port Angeles
We had a wonderful weekend. This home is a great jumping off point for activities around Port Angeles, WA. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. We were warm and cozy. We had a great first experience with VRBO and look forward to next time.
It was a pleasure to have you stay at our home on the Olympic Peninsula and the Gateway to the Olympic Mountains in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on the Strait of Juan de Fuca!
We hope to have you as our guests again some time. Wonderful and safe travels! Michelle & Greg

The cottage is on a dead end with a creek running through the front yard, deer can often be seen in the yard grazing or lying down. It is located on a quiet quiet dead-end valley road and walking distance from downtown (about 1 mile from historic downtown and the Strait of Juan de Fuca where you'll find the Discovery Waterfront trail, our farmers market, a variety of restaurants, the BC Ferry (Victoria BC is roughly a 1 1/2 hr ride on the ferry), local art & culture, a 3 - 50 minute drive to a variety of lakes, beaches, our famed Hurricane Ridge, the Olympic National Park, Marymere and Madison Falls and more. Once you drive onto Valley Street and drive under to the bridge to 904 S there will be a turn to the left (you'll see a yellow house), this is where you pass over the creek onto the lane the home is on. Drive down the lane to the very end, you will drive right onto the property.
