House with private frontporch and yard, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom

I am Paul and we thank you very much for visiting our homepage. I grew up between the USA and France. What a better place to be than Louisiana?
Paul. purchased this House in 1999
Why Paul. chose Marigny
New-Orleans is wonderful and a unique place for its history. Bourbon Street can be a lot of fun, no one there thinks moderation is a virtue ! But do you really want to stay there during your stay? We much prefer the authentic 'Faubourg Marigny', this is the real New-Orleans, with its little corner shops and our historic home is a nice, quiet retreat full of old charm, hidden by a tropical jungle-type private front-yard/ front porch.
What makes this House unique
The house stands in the middle of a friendly, progressive, quiet, family oriented and safe neighborhood. It is also close to the best attractions in town. Walking distance for groceries as well. Thanks to the lush front yard, its tropical plants, the cottage is also a nice secluded retreat providing complete privacy and a comforting sense of peace with its own 'mystique'.

The location of the home is perfect. Good walking distance from activities. Clean home and comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in New Orleans.
Hi,Paul this is a family home, very sweet, I will recommend it, thanks for everything see you next time
We had an excellent experience. Ron and Paul were incredible hosts. Everything was exactly as advertised.
We will absolutely recommend this property to all of our friends and will definitely be staying here again on our next adventure!
thank you very much for your great review.
Looking forward to having you stay at Caprice Creole Cottage again !
This was a perfect place for two couples to stay for a weekend. Paul is a gracious host, and has decorated the property beautifully. We enjoyed mornings on the porch drinking coffee and playing cards, made mostly private by beautiful plants. We walked to breakfast at The Ruby Slipper and Who Dat Coffee and Cafe, and in the evenings enjoyed Frenchmen Street, which is literally right around the corner, There's a grocery store nearby within reasonable walking distance if you don't mind carrying your goods back with you, or would be a short Uber. In other words, the location is perfect, especially if want to be close enough to explore the Quarter but escape the madness if desired.
The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom is accessible only through one of the bedrooms, which makes perfect sense given the narrow lots in this area. We did not find this an issue, but if it would be for you inquire about the upstairs room, which is light and airy, and has its own bathroom. The downstairs shower is a little tricky to figure out, but it works and the water was hot for all of us and we understand will be remodeled soon. The kitchen was well-stocked, and I appreciated being able to use the washer and dryer after an unexpected spill. As mentioned, the artwork is beautiful and works to transport you to another time and place. Check-in was easy; we were an hour late because of a delayed plane but Paul waited to check us in personally.
We are already planning our visit with Paul next year!

Loved our stay
We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the home and it's location to all things NOLA! Thank you for allowing us to stay for a few days and also for suggesting several good places to eat.
In the Faubourg Marigny, 2 minutes walking from the French Quarter & Frenchmen street/ best place for Jazz, music lovers. Quiet house, built 1803, hidden behind a tropical front yard.
We are also 4 blocks from the Faubourg Treme, the African-American Museum, Voodoo Temple, Backstreet Cultural Museum, Saint-Augustine Church and much more!
