Lovely private villa only 30 mts of the sea in Puerto Pollensa. Puerto Pollensa has two great beaches to its name. There’s Pollensa Beach, a kilometre-long expanse of golden sand with plenty of watersports options and sunloungers, just south of the marina. And Albercutx Beach, a narrow but busy two-kilometre strip that’s really family-friendly, thanks to its shallow water and natural shade.
Picturesque town
The town scores highly in the beauty stakes. Right behind the beach is Pine Walk, a tree-fringed walkway that clings to the coast. Not only is it brimming with seafood restaurants but it’s the setting for romantic sunset walks. Then there’s the main square, Plaza Miguel Capllonch, lined on three sides with restaurants and bars, and home to a busy market on Wednesdays.
Near Cap de Formentor
A 30-minute bus ride away is Cap de Formentor. It’s a rugged peninsula with huge cliffs that dip sharply into the sea, serving up some of Majorca’s most dramatic vistas. It’s also home to Formentor Hotel, the 5-star hotel with its own private beach – this is where Agatha Christie wrote Problem at Pollensa Bay.
