About Sylvie Treu
My name is Sylvie, I was born in Canada and became involved in the arts and modeling in my youth. After I met my husband, we moved to Long island for a few years before purchasing this property and we have been Branford residents ever since. I'm an animal lover, having owned everything from cats to bears and most things in between. I regularly attend equestrian events in the area and practice natural horsemanship. In the summer, I try to get out on the water whenever possible. I'm also a seasoned chef, no pun intended. Cooking has always been a pleasure of mine that I share with my son.
Sylvie Treu purchased this House in 1991
Why Sylvie Treu chose Branford
This property is comfortable, very different in architecture and design from anything you have experienced with lots of room and space in a very bright setup. It is clean and well maintained, we treat our guests like friends or family making sure all their needs are satisfied and being seasoned travelers, we strive to exceed your expectations. The pool is a great plus when traveling or visiting as well as the hiking trails right off the property bordering the Pond Supply State Park with miles and miles of fun and challenging trails. Secluded and noise free, this property is within minutes of downtown Branford and the Long Island Sound with many activities available. If you live in the city, you will sleep like a baby.

I have rented a lot of short term rentals and only two of them myself. I am a five star host and I have never had a complaint about me as a guest either. That being said this place was very outdated and very dirty. The refrigerator was packed full of the owners personal food items which I find completely ridiculous and gross. It made the stay very uncomfortable. There was no space provided for any of our food whether in the refrigerator or the pantry. There was no place provided to keep any of our stuff nor to hang any of our suits or dresses as we were going to a wedding. The carpet throughout the home is very outdated and disgusting. Never had to write a review like this so this is not enjoyable for me but it needs to be said. This place is not fit to be rented to people. Whoever took the photos for the website is an amazing artist because what you see in these pictures is not the home you’re getting. Very disappointing and embarrassing for my guests. Horrible experience.
We had an agreement that you did not respect.
Strangely out of all reviews yours happens to be the ONLY one so negative.
There are parameters to respect in a rental agreement. Your experience would NOT have been negative if only you had not invited many more people than agreed to in our home (let me remind you that you rented our home for 8 adults only) very sadly you allowed many additional guests and allowed them to park their cars over the flower beds across the street, there was not enough space to park in our large parking area for the number of people you invited resulting in damages. We unfortunately had to have words about respecting house rules and obviously the only thing you seem to be able to do is to make false statements about irrelevant issues.
You are entitle to your opinion and I respect that, I only wish you had been upfront and truthful about you usage of our home and we would not be having this exchange right now.
Thank you for the compliment on the photographer, indeed the pictures are not only good but also a perfect reflection of what our home has to offer.
Reunion of friends in idyllic setting
This lovely property was a perfect place for college friends to celebrate a reunion. Weather did not permit the pool being open but we enjoyed the deck, expansive house and beautiful setting. It is a house full of history and art - not a run of the mill place at all! Thanks to Sylvie who was a wonderful host.
Thank you Jeanette,
It was a real pleasure to share my home with you and your group.
Thank you for taking care of my home like it was yours :) and thank you for appreciating the special atmosphere a live in home has to offer.
I am looking forward to have you as a special guest in the future.
Did not live up to advertisement
Sylvia was a great host. The house needed some updating. and the home did not live up to what we expected.
I appreciate your input but i would personally love to know in which way were you desapointed? Your comments are valuable to me and future guests.
There are plenty of pictures on the web site and they are up to date and accurate.
Please if you have a minute feel free to email or call.
Thank you again !
This is a spacious home with large bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms.
The large kitchen table suited our family well and the pool was delightful.
Sylvie was very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Thank you Joan.
I have enjoyed sharing my home with you and your family.
Thank you very much for taking care of it like it was your own home.
I hope to see you again ,it was a pleasue.
Thank you for a fun and relaxing weekend!
We stayed here for a reunion of seven college roommates, and had a wonderful time. Our hosts were charming and helpful. The house was very clean; had plenty of seating areas for long catch-up chats; a large enough kitchen for us all to pitch in cooking meals; and a beautiful deck by the pool for grilling and eating outside.
Thank you Cartiona.
It was a pleasure to share my home with all of you for a very special occasion.
Thank you for taking care of my home as if it was yours.
You are a wonderful guest!
Relaxing place to stay.
Wonderful, quiet, and private location in a lovely neighborhood. My family and I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and open atmosphere of the home. Shopping and restaurants located nearby, so we did not have to drive into New Haven. Really enjoyed our stay.
It was a real pleasure to meet Jane and her family.
They took great care of my home .
The house came back to us spotless which is always appreciated.
Communicating with Jane was easy and pleasurable.
Great guests, they are welcome back anytime.
For foodies, Be sure to check out Pepe's Pizza in New Haven. It and nearby Modern Apizza are widely regarded as some of the best pizzerias on the East coast. This is not your average pizza, new comers will be blown away by the quality ingredients and perfect cooking technique.
For fine dining, be sure to make reservations at Le Petit Cafe. As one of Zaggat's Top 40 restaurants in the US, it's not to be missed. The French-Asian fusion will leave a lasting impression on you and a fixed price menu keeps that impression from lasting on your wallet at just $50 per person. Great for special events and romantic dinners.
