About Greg & Wendy Thompson
Long time North Carolinians, we love the beach and we love sharing our beach house with others! I had no idea going to the beach for even one day could relax and restore you! We love going down no matter the time of year-it's very peaceful and relaxing and if you want to stay busy there is plenty to do! You can walk to the pier and wave to your friends/family on the live webcam! You can rent bicycles, our home is a great place for bike riding as it's at the end of a dead end street (has a fantastic paved driveway, away from the street, for little kids to ride bikes on, sidewalk chalk or play in) & it's an easy ride to the downtown area with restaurants & shops. We love chartering boats and going fishing, renting paddle boards, swimming, eating at the great restaurants, getting fresh seafood & more!

Why Greg & Wendy Thompson chose Surf City
It's hard to explain, but if you spend just a day or two in the house we know you will understand. It's ocean/beach front!! Somehow the relaxation just finds you. We will sometimes drive down for just a day and it helps restore you and makes returning to work much easier! Spend a week or two and life couldn't get any better!
What makes this House unique
Almost every room faces the ocean with plenty of windows for amazing ocean views and all major rooms offer walkouts right onto one of the two huge decks so you can listen to the waves, feel the breeze and watch for the dolphins that are often seen playing just offshore. There are restaurants, coffee shops, bars and stores within walking and biking distance.

Crazy about this place!
Great beach experience! Wendy and Greg couldn’t have been more helpful or prompt in their responses. Will definitely be back.
Great Beach Trip
We had an absolutely great time at Beaches Be Crazy. The house had everything we needed. The location was great, the surfing was good, and the margaritas went down easy. Thanks for a wonderful week at the beach!
Great week with family!
Location was great. Lots of nearby properties staking out spots for beach in the mornings. Great week with mix of beautiful sun and afternoon storms, followed by beautiful sunsets.
Property owners very responsive.
Great family vacation.
We very much enjoyed our stay! It is so lovely to be beachfront and also in an area where there isn’t so much traffic! Greg and Wendy were very attentive and easy to work with, answering any questions in a timely manner. The home is Well stocked for all of your cooking needs!
Spring Break in Surf City - A Success!
We had an amazing time on our visit to Surf City! Wendy was a fantastic hostess, very responsive leading up to and throughout the trip. The home is perfectly located on the beach, and had all of the amenities we needed. There was plenty of space for all 7 of us, we could be together easily and comfortably. Plenty of food and shopping options nearby. Beach crowds were very light and friendly. Highly recommend this home!
House was great. Having beach umbrellas and toys for the kids was great from day 1. Location was convenient to get to town but far enough off the beaten path that it was quiet at night. Perfect blend.
Topsail Island is a twenty-six mile long barrier island off the North Carolina coast. Commonly known as a sanctuary for sea turtles, as well as those seeking superb beaches, clean water and quiet, natural splendor. The area consists of three main beach communities - North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach. Surfers cruise and choose lines on the waves, while fishermen toss theirs off the piers or surf fish, both enjoying what the ocean provides on a daily basis. No trip to the island is complete without a visit to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Topsail Beach (http://www.seaturtlehospital.org), or the Missiles and More Museum, which reveals the island’s fascinating history as a top secret missile launch site during World War II. Topsail is the kind of place made for memorable family beach vacations, soaking in some sunny rays, or relaxing in the many sources of tepid water.
It is cutely tucked away and off the beaten path of North Carolina’s better known beaches. However, if more people and social activities like movies and more expansive shopping is your cup of tea, it's an easy hour’s drive or less to Wilmington to the south, and Jacksonville and USMC Camp Lejeune to the north. Come on over the bridge and discover what quaint, hospitable and lovely living is all about.
