About Owner / Manager
Charles and I are semi-retired and moved down to St Ives and to Vivian House in the summer of 2014. Charles is a musician and continues to teach part-time at Truro college and I work part-time in heritage tourism. We feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the country and welcome the opportunity to share it with others. We live in Vivian House on the first floor and manage the Apartment ourselves, this means that if there were any problem we are always on hand. We offer a friendly service but we also respect guests' privacy and will only be a there at the start to help guests to unload if they so wish and show them to their accommodation. Otherwise we will leave them to explore St Ives and the surrounding area and to enjoy their stay.

Why Owner / Manager chose Saint Ives
The Apartment is on the ground floor of Vivian House. Its central location makes it an ideal choice for families and groups. There are no steps to negotiate into town because everything is on the doorstep. The sitting room has a TV/DVD player and a selection of board games. There is a granite fireplace with an electric wood burning stove, which makes the Apartment a cosy choice for out of season holidays as well as seaside summers. The spacious kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge with ice box and dish washer. The kitchen stable door opens straight out onto the pretty courtyard where there are seats and a table. There is no washing machine but the laundrette is only a 5 minute walk away . Two double bedrooms lead off the hallway, one has a 4’ 6’’ double bed, the other has a zip and link double bed, which offers flexible sleeping arrangements, either as a 6’ double or as 2 x 3’ single beds. After a few hours on the beach the outdoor shower is invaluable to wash down wet suits and then to sit and relax in your own courtyard (we will occasionally pass through to access our apartment above but we do respect your privacy).
What makes this Apartment unique
The close proximity to the railway station makes arriving by train ideal. For those who come by car we can also provide parking in a gated car park (for an extra charge). All the shops, restaurants and beaches are very close which means that you can walk everywhere. And on wet days the cinema is just just one minute's walk away!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay!
The property was lovely, with lots of character and charm in an excellent location close to the town centre and beautiful beaches. The owners, Anna and Charles were very welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!
Thank you Frances for your kind words, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes to you all.
Great location and property, onwers were amazingly helpful
Never been to St Ives before and loved the town and the beaches, accommodation was superb, close to town and short walk to the harbour and beaches. Would recommend doing some surfing lessons , with great sandy beaches! Town can get crowded make sure you book restaurants weeks before. Had a great time and will return. Property owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The apartment was roomy and very comfortable, would highly recommend.
Thank you for your review and choosing Vivian apartment- so pleased you mentioned pre-booking the restaurants, so many guests can be disappointed otherwise. Very best wishes to you all.
There is no way this review can do justice to this lovely place and our charming hosts. We have stayed many places all over England and this was one of the best. At 75, comfort and convenience are very important and this place has both. We couldn't believe how close we were to everything we needed from the co-op to the bus stop. Anna and Charles were most gracious and helpful. The apartment itself is spacious and comfortable and has excellent internet. It is also all in the ground level which is perfect. We are aware some might want a sea view, but we loved the quiet and lovely courtyard and the walk to the sea was brief and fun. St. Ives is a busy place, and has lots to do. The restaurants are busy and the food good. Both the Tate Modern and the Barbara Hepworth Museum are worth a visit. And we would highly recommend the Atlantic Coaster bus. It was a convenient and fun way to see more of Cornwall. We would definitely stay with Anna and Charles again when we come back to Cornwall. A 5 star place if ever there was one!!
Many many thanks for your glowing review. It was an absolute pleasure having you both to stay. Charles and I were envious of your itinerary and were delighted that we were part of it!
Ideal location, fully-equipped.

Thank you for your review and for choosing Vivian apartment. Charles and I enjoyed meeting you both and are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in St Ives. We wish you all the best, Anna
Charming little apartment right in the middle of St Ives
Great place to stay right in the heart of St Ives but just tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The owners were so lovely and the place was immaculate. Would definitely recommend it.
Yasmin and family were lovely guests and we thank her for her kind words. We are so glad they enjoyed staying at Vivian Apartment and hope they return one day soon.
Very best wishes
Anna and Charles
Clean, comfortable, convenient.
Lovely cozy place located in town and so an easy walk to the harbor, beach, shops, and restaurants. Comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. Quiet. Parking nearby.
Thank you for your review, Charles and I are pleased you both enjoyed your stay at Vivian Apartment.
St Ives is also the perfect base for taking day trips. Here are just a few ideas:
Tin mining once played an important part in Cornwall's economy, find out more by visiting Levant, and Geevor mines.
For the more adventurous, take a trip by air or sea to the lovely Isles of Scilly. Day trips are available and run through the summer months.
The peninsular is at its narrowest point between St Ives and Marazion, which is one of the oldest chartered towns in the UK. From there you can visit St Michael’s Mount, the iconic castle set on a tidal island.
Penwith contains a great concentration of Bronze Age, Iron Age archaeological remains.
Explore Truro, the only city in Cornwall. It has some fine Georgian architecture and the Cathedral spire dominates the skyline. It is the main shopping town of Cornwall with a wide range of independent shops and high street stores.
Porthcurno not only has a beautiful beach – The Telegraph Museum charts its fascinating history, when the place became a Victorian Silicon Valley. Porthcurno is also the home of the Minack Theatre, Cornwall’s world famous open air theatre.
Visit the Eden Project, which can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Its massive Biomes house the largest rainforest in captivity and there are summer concerts as well as year-round family events.
