About neil cannon
Hi I'm Neil, and i have lived in Spain with my wife and 3 children for 9 years now. We came here to give the children a better more relaxed way of life. We live in a typical Spanish village not far from Malaga, so why don’t you come over to stay in the apartment, and enjoy a bit of Spain with us!

Lovely quirky villa for summer holiday
Good quiet location with everything you need for good summer family holiday. Pool was lovely with handy outside cold shower. Beach was minutes walk away and so were restaurants. We didn't use jacuzzi much. Probably because it was too hot outside. We did one big shop in nearby Mercadona and bought fresh milk, bread, fruit & veg from the shop at the bottom of the hill. We were 4 adults & 6 children so the sleeping arrangements were a bit tricky but we managed. Made easy trips to the nearby towns from the train station few minutes walk up the hill.
Neil was very welcoming & helpful with everything we needed. Thank you
Excellent stay the villa was perfect had everything we wanted
We had a great week at the villa pool was excellent.neil was there to meet us we arrived early and we were able to go straight to the villa he had stuff in fridge for our arrival he was very helpful arranging our taxi transfers to and from the villa we had nothing to do can’t thank him enough as for the villa it’s lovely very comfortable and has everything you could need the pool was used a lot and the hot tub would go Bk again thank you Neil for everything
Just home from an amazing holiday. Villa is traditional in style & in a great location. Down the hill are 2 small supermarkets & few cafe & restaurants & the beach. Also behind the villa about 5mins walk is the train station. We loved the pool & hot tub, we couldn't have asked for more from our stay. Neil was fantastic & nothing was too much trouble!! Really hope we can return in the near future!
My experience in renting this property was not a good one. On arrival late in the evening everything appeared okay we paid Neil ( the property manager) an extra sum of money to stay for the full day on our last day as we had a late flight home, he stocked the fridge with essentials to get us started and we were fairly confident and happy that we were going to enjoy our stay. It was not long however before we started experiencing issues for the first few days we were without hot water we were asked to change the gas bottle which we did however there still seemed to be an issue getting hot water so Neil visited and after a while the problem was resolved. A few days following I was showered with glass when the door to the en-suite shower unexpectedly exploded when I shut the door leaving me with glass splinters all over me and cuts to my arms and feet as well as my four year old daughter who cut her foot as she was waiting in the bathroom for me when it happened. Following this incident the television stopped working Neil replaced the box but we were told to turn it off and on as the sound occasionally goes and by occasionally he meant every 10 to 45 minutes not to mention the constant freezing picture. We were specifically asked during our stay not to allow the actual owner access to the property ( I suspect because the villa has not been maintained to a high standard for holiday makers) the pool filter stopped working meaning the pool was unclean and left a nasty smell, it was days before someone came to sort it and when they did we were not notified meaning a group of men just walked into the garden whilst my children were playing and my husband and I were preparing lunch which upset us a great deal. The location for train and bus links is good but the hill leading to the villa is extremely steep and not ideal if you have a buggy or a wheelchair. The villa itself is charming and quaint and with attention to detail has great potential ,however, at the moment it is dusty ( could do with a good clean and lick of paint!) the curtains on the gazebo that sheltered the jacuzzi have mould and the terrace is cluttered nothing like the pictures that you see in my view they should be updated so not to mislead travellers. I wouldn’t recommend this villa in its current state.
Such a shame we had really hoped for a wonderful stay given all the positive feedback we’d seen before booking.
I don´t normally feel that I need to respond to a review but in this case I feel that it is necessary. Firstly ,regarding the extra sum of money , on booking Emma requested a travel cot with linen and a late arrival . Both of which have a small additional charge which is stated on the website. She also asked if it would be possible to stay on in the villa past the 10 am check out which was made clear there would be a small charge. On arrival I explained the rules and general information regarding the villa including the gas bottles that supply all the hot water for the villa. As I do with all my guests I stressed that if there was any change regarding the hot water this would mean the bottle needed changing. This was made clear that if it was something that they were unsure of then they could contact me . Four days into their holiday I was contacted regarding the pool and was also told that they hadn´t had hot water for several days. I went straight to the villa as soon as i knew this to see that the bottle had been changed but as he had left it so long he had drained the pipes of any gas and it was full of air.
I contacted my plumber and he explained how to resolve the problem, and within minutes it was solved and the hot water was working perfectly.
Regarding the shower door exploding!!
This was fairly new and I´ve never known a shower door to explode.
There were two doors and only one exploded!
Obviously accidents can happen .
I offered to go straight away to the villa, but was told" not to worry mate i will clean it up"
when i did arrive with the plumber to look at the damage the shattered glass was still sitting in the bathroom, and hadnt been touched, bearing in mind they had 8 children.
At no time was i shown any cuts or injuries to Emma or her child
The English TV box did play up and i managed to replace it at very short notice with another one i had,but unfortunately this had a fault
i have now been able to buy a new box.
This is something we dont have to hand and needed to order one,
The villa has full free unlimted wifi, and many guests use there ipads etc to access Netflixs, amazon, google etc and download and watch all the programmes, films they want to watch for themselves and there children.
regarding the owner entering the garden area of the property,i did say if they wasn't
happy with this situation then they could deny access if they felt it was affecting there privacy.
but the reason they wanted to access the garden was to check on the pool,as it had tripped out and a we found that a new fuse was needed.
At no time was they told not to use the pool, and at no time was the pool unsafe to use,or dirty
The villa is ideally situated and only 200mtrs from the beach, restaurants, and local supermarkets.Regarding the pool area.
There are sunbeds and table and chairs for outside dining,so im not sure where the clutter and misleading photos are
if previous guests leave inflatables then i always leave them for my next guests to save them from buying them!!
Also on close inspection one of the remote controls for the aircon units was missing, something else we need to replace!!
The property is given a thorough clean before and after guests arrive, and after the departure of this family,it certainly needed it!!
To sum things up,i have a excellent ratings record on this property, and the guests that arrived just three days later gave it 5 stars and loved it,with the headline Amazing!!
2 weeks in June
Firstly Neil is great super helpful! Asked for directions for places etc and helped straight away he was there when we arrived and also had milk bread etc which was perfect
The villa is lovely cottage like large bedrooms and lovely garden/pool area the villa Is close to the train station and the bus stop which are super easy and cheap to use cabs where a little hard to get they couldn't find the Cullis for some reason but save the money and use the buses and train there are two supermarkets close by and 3 lovely restaurants by its about 12mins bus ride in to the town and about 7 min by train where there is a market and lots of shops and restaurants and great beach and harbour there to!!
We would stay there again only thing we would say is it’s of a fairly step heel and the supermarkets and restaurants are at the bottom second thing is there are about 5 steps down to the property so with buggy’s little more tricky but we survived it fine!
Other thing is that the villia could do with a little not more of a clean not bad just needs a bit more going over
But over all we had a lovely holiday there and would recommend it
Would Definitely Recomend a stay to any friend or Collegue
Excellent time had by all we had friends in there Sixties to young children in our party and all enjoyed our stay !!!!!
