Week in Tsivaras
Location of villa was great for our needs of meeting with relatives in nearby Vamos and Chania as well as touring beach towns and other locations in Western Crete. The view of the Mediterranean Sea from the property was exceptional. There is a lovely barbeque area which we did not use as we were constantly on the go, but the outdoor pool area is terrific for relaxation and cooling off. We spent most of the time outdoors by the pool while at the villa. The living room area and kitchen are small but adequate if there are only 4 people. Whle this property is lovely and suited our needs, it would not be suitable for anyone who is physically handicapped as there are stairs getting up to the house, outdoors from house to pool area, and in the house there is a steep stone staircase to the bedrooms. It turns and has railings at the bottom, but there is no railing to hold onto on the upper part of staircase which could be dangerous for small children or the elderly. The three full bathrooms were definitely a plus for the 4 of us. The water to the toilets had been turned off when we arrived and it took a while to figure it out. We would recommend that the housekeeper turn it on when guests are expected so there is no confusion. There were only two remotes for the AC units so we had to move one up and down in order to cool the living room when we were at the house. Martine was great host, communicating with us often. Larger sign at the entrance would be helpful. Thank you Martine!
