Not a particularly enjoyable stay, inaccuracies in the listing but owner is very pleasant.
We did not fall in love with this unit in Pignona, but Anna Maria is very pleasant and helpful and was there when we arrived as planned. Although her booking listing states that she speaks English, the first thing she said to us in Italian was that she didn't speak English. Our little bit of Italian plus some miming got us through the initial explanations and she had Google translated some instructions into written English for us. We had booked a week because we have stayed in places just like this over the last couple of months in Italy and they have always been quite comfortable for longer stays. This place was not comfortable nor was it a pleasant place to spend time.
The shower/bath combination is completely unusable as the bath has a built in sloped and raised seat which necessitates you sitting with your knees under your chin. It is extremely difficult to stand in because of the sloping seat. The shower rose is fixed at knee level on an extension so the only way to shower is to sit in the bath and hold the shower rose over you. The bath didn't have a plug so you couldn't even fill it. For children or older people this bath would be a hazard.. We were surprised to find that we had to pay extra (and at a premium) for the gas for heating and cooking. After some searching we did find it mentioned in Italian (the only part of the listing in Italian) at the bottom of the VRBO listing. If heating is required this charge should not be ignored as even though we were frugal with our gas use it still cost us €30 extra for the week. A couple of rugs on the freezing tiled floors would make heating a much easier task and the whole place a lot more pleasant. The self catering kitchen would enable easier self catering if the oven door closed properly, there were adequate utensils (no tongs, no egg flip, filthy and broken coffee maker, blunt knifes etc) and the crockery and cutlery was clean and not extremely well worn. The lack of wines glasses struck me as odd as well. There was a very new and very efficient washing machine in the kitchen which was a great bonus though.
The TV is ancient but didn't work anyway, there is no WIFI as mentioned in the booking listing, but also no phone reception so you are completely out of touch with the world. The entire place has been put together cheaply and poorly and it is not a welcoming or comfortable place to spend time.
At a lower price maybe but as it is, it offers poor value for money. Cannot recommend.
We stayed here for a week in September 2017. The 1 bed flat is perfect for a couples getaway. It has a big terrace with table and chairs perfect for dinner in the evening, overlooking the beautiful village of sesta gordana- amazing views! Anna maria is very nice and super helpful. You will definitely need a car, but it was a quick and beautiful drive to Levanto on quiet roads, where we parked and explored Cinque Terre. It's also a great place to explore more of Liguria and we visited some beautiful places based on Anna Maria's recommendations.
Walking around the Pignona village is great, such a quaint place and really felt authentic
The flat is well equipped and comfortable, I would highly recommend a stay here.
A truly magnificent place with a breathtaking view from the terrace. Perfectly situated in the peace and quiet of the mountains but not too far from the La Spezia and beautiful coastal towns. Anna Maria is warm and welcoming and very helpful with useful information about where to eat and what to see. I fully recommend this place and I will be back !!

We had the luck to rent the delightful apartment in Pignona and thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent there. Not only is it very comfortable and pleasant, but it also enjoys the most breathtaking view from its huge terrace. As for its owner, she is the sweetest person, welcoming, well informed and helpful. There is no end of interesting and beautiful day trips to do all around when you can tear yourself from the terrace or want a change from lovely walks in the wooded neighborhood. It has easy access to Lavanto and the Cinque Terre. Highly recommendable.
