4 Br 4 Bath log home north of Smokey Mountains and on Douglas Lake
About John Kissel
I have lived in the Indiana / Kentucky / Tennessee area all my life and have always appreciated the beauty this area of the country has to offer. Currently living in Indianapolis, this property is a frequent get-away for me and provides access to all the area has to offer.
John Kissel purchased this House in 2014
Why John Kissel chose Dandridge
Owning a log home in the mountains has been a 15+ year dream. With both mountain views and lake-front access, this home gave me the rustic charm, newer / modern amenities and access to the hobbies I love.
What makes this House unique
Privacy and peace-quiet in a planned community. The home was built in 2005 along with many of the properties in the area. Home contains features that guests and travelers welcome such as a boat dock, fishing, in-house games and entertainment, and the beauty of a star-lit night sky. Home is spacious and provides ample room for large families, or several families that want to share a vacation property. In-room bathrooms provide the privacy when needed while common areas allow for gatherings to make a meal or other forms of entertainment. Three large covered decks provide tables, porch swings, cooking grill, rocking chairs, and a hot tub for activities that can last all day. Local attractions include Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, outlet mall shopping, golf, marinas, white-water rafting, and the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Motorcycling or sports cars can take advantage of mountain roads and the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 50 miles to the Southeast. Fans of Nascar can see the race at Bristol or football fans can patronize the Tennessee Vols. With Knoxville's downtown about 40 miles to the west with dining, brew pubs and entertainment, evening entertainment is not hard to find. Boaters can enjoy exploring the local TVA lakes such as Cherokee, Douglas, Norris, Tellico and others.

Everything as great or better as listed. Owner assisted with handicap requests. Regretfully the water level was down this time of year, which we were made aware of, would have liked to fish a little more. Cabin was everything we expected and more. John (owner) responded very quickly with answers to all our questions. ATV a plus to getting down to lagoon/lake.
Loved the over all experience of the lake and the Smokey Mountains. Love the house we have been staying in now for the past couple of years. John (Home Owner) was great to deal with.
We will be pack next year.
Items need attention
House is wonderful. great view of the lake, although if you want to swim long steep walk to the water, really not what I would call lake front house. If you want to grill out bring your own grill, grill at cabin was not usable.
Hi - and thank you for the feedback. I will be there this weekend and will check the grill. Sounds like it is time for a repair or replacement. will get it taken care of.
Excellent stay in lake house, large bedrooms and living area, clean, and very responsive owner.
Very beautiful and quiet area. John was very proactive resolving any issues that we encountered. It was truly a great family vacation!!
Great to hear and always love it when guests have a wonderful vacation!
