20eme neighborhood is a great location
Our trip was just 6 nights. We are an active middle-aged couple. This apartment worked out great for us. It had everything we needed. We were very comfortable and Marc was very helpful. The wifi was fast enough to stream Netflix the last evening. The washing machine came in handy because we packed carry-on. The kitchen had electric kettle, coffee maker, all of the cooking implements you could want, fridge, even a dishwasher. The heat was easy to control. If you put kids in the top bed, they will be (maybe too) toasty .
There were plenty of nice food shops nearby. We particularly liked Maison Landemaine Boulangerie near Gambetta metro station.
We hopped on the 96 bus early one morning to Gare Montparnasse for a day trip (TGV) to Mt-St-Michel with a 3hr layover on the way home to visit Rennes.
We used the Gambetta and Menilmontant and a third metro nearby for our Paris visits to the Duc des Lombards Jazz club, Sacre Couer/Montmartre, 7eme neighborhood cooking class, bike tour with Fat Tire, different museums, and Louvre/Eiffel tower/Latin Quarter both during the day and at night.
The apartment was very convenient to Pere Lachaise Cemetery and we enjoyed two visits there. We bought the Navigo Semaine metro passes that were good for the CDG transfers and any other RER/Metro/bus trip we felt like doing. If the weather had been better and with another day we could have used that for a trip to Versailles.
Great space, even for a family of 4!
Great experience. The owners did a great job meeting us upon arrival. We had Wi-Fi and a nice hot shower available as well. Every inch of space was optimized well. We already miss you Rue Boyer!
We had a great stay in Paris at Marc’s property. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook up a quick meal after long days of sightseeing. Close to grocery store, pattisierse and restaurants galore. The space is small but for our family of 4 it worked great. Th metro at Gambetta station was about a 10 minute walk and the bus number 96 to the heart of Paris was about a 5 minute walk. My family loves to stay outside of where all the tourists stay however with The cities public transportation system it doesn’t matter where you stay, everything is so accessible. Thank you Marc for sharing your space with us.
Great value and wonderful service. The owners were very helpful.
The location of the property very convenient - close to several bus and metro stops. We used the transportation a lot during our stay. Marc the owner was very accommodating upon our arrival. He texted me exact direction and it was easy for us to get to the location (first time in Paris). Internet connection was perfect as it was important for me. The little patio outside the apartment is great. We had several meals there
Briefly: the apartment worth every dollar you have spent, I strongly recommend it. It is cozy and placed in a quiet district. One definitely should stop here.
Easy access from train stations or airports and from anywhere in Paris with buses (96 and 69) and subways (line 2 and 3)
Theaters and auditorium with concerts; famous places in Paris as "la Bellevilloise"(www.labelleviloise.com), "la Maroquinerie"(www.lamaroquinerie.fr) and "Studio de l'Ermitage"(www.studio-ermitage.com)just in the street.
