The Riad was a dream, a true luxurious escape from the heat and intensity of Marrakech streets. We enjoyed every second being there. Thoughtful touches, incredibly comfortable and Hanane (the cook) was so charming and cooked such delicious food for us. Nourdine the property manager was always easy to get hold of if we needed any questions answered and arranged our airport taxi both ways which was very helpful. All round an unforgettable stay and when we return to Marrakech we will return to this charming Riad.
I'll open with this: if you're looking for a beautiful Riad that is quiet and intimate, then this is the one for you.
We loved this place. Sure, the pictures looked really nice when we were shopping around for places, and obviously that's the main reason we took it. But, what cannot be expressed in the listing is just how perfectly quaint it is. Because it's only 3 bedrooms, we could buy out the whole place and it became our quiet sanctuary when we wanted to escape the bustling streets or unrelenting heat. The rooms and bathrooms are all very nice and well decorated. There is a lot of space to sit around and lounge and the pool is perfectly sized to cool off and rest your feet. In fact, because we enjoyed the pool area so much, we realized we hardly used the rooftop terrace, which is a shame because it is also very nice.
So the place is really nice. What else? The people - in this case Zakaria and Hanane. Zakaria was a facilitator, a man who could make things done, like Red in Shawshank. Want to set up a tour? Zakaria will organize it. Want to do a cooking class? Zakaria will find one. Want to shop for a musical instrument? Zakaria will make some calls. He was always available to answer questions, give advice, or set up anything we wanted. He was the ultimate concierge. He took me to change money himself - twice. He would check in everyday to make sure we were all having a good time and even after we checked out and went home, he texted to make sure we arrived safe. You can tell that he really takes his job seriously and wants his guests to have the best time. I can't say enough about him.
Hanane was our little chef. She made breakfast for us every day, and (for an additional price) she would make dinners. Her cooking was excellent - several of my group felt that her meals were better than the meals we got at higher priced restaurants. Her meals were home-cooked and often she would throw in extras just to make us happy. Once, she made an orange cake after we had a long day. Because we saw her everyday, we really bonded with her. She even taught us a few things about cooking and tea making. Always smiling and enthusiastic, we felt like she was a member of our family.
So in the end, we had no issues with this place. I would return to Marrakech just to stay there again. It is tranquil, and beautiful, and just the type of place you want to escape to after the chaos of the Souks. Book now. You won't regret it.
We are situated in the district Sidi mimoun, close to the new royal palace and behind the famous hotel " Mamounia "
