About Cynthia Jarvis
I spend most of my time as a Presbyterian minister in Philadelphia. The best way to find our more about me is to go to our website. Just google Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill or PCCH. I love what I do but I also love Maine. When I arrive in my cottage for the month of June or the week over Thanksgiving in November, I a purely happy and awash with gratitude.
Cynthia Jarvis purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Cynthia Jarvis chose Bath
My first cottage was on Georgetown Island in Bay Point, looking over to Ft. Popham. I was where the Kennebec opened onto the ocean. I love it but had a brackish well, overboard discharge and only a woodstove for heat. If I were to retire in Maine, I knew I wanted to be in the same area but with city water and sewer! My saltbox in Bath is the best of both worlds. I am still on the Kennebec with easy access to amenities.
What makes this Cottage unique
I truly loved the light, the simplicity, the location and the neighborhood of a dead end street in Bath. It is so easy to explore the coast, enjoy a night in Portland, hike the Camden Hills or just read a book on my deck and listen for the fish to jump. It is my home and I hope you feel it is your home for the time of your stay.

New Years Eve get away
A perfect mix between getting away and being close enough to it all. We loved our time here and even had a good amount of snow fall to enjoy out the large living room window overlooking the river by the comfort of the fire. Bath was a great town to explore and was also close enough to enjoy all costal Maine has to offer. We made a late call to head there for our short vacation but Rev. Jarvis was super accommodating; even replying to me on Christmas to get us set up. (which was unexpected and above and beyond!). She says this isn’t a rental property, but her home; and that definitely shows! Book without reservation!
All I can say is WOW!
The tranquil ambience of this property is unbelievable! The Fall colors and sound of the lake ripples splashing against the coastal rocks of the passing boaters is picture perfect!
Just what we hoped
The views of the Kennebec, the comfort of the living areas and beds, and even the quirks of an old house like the sloping floors, made this a charming place for our week long exploration of coastal Maine. The only drawback, since we have back and knee issues, was the bathroom being on the second floor, which we knew going in.
We have rented many homes
This was by far the cleanest, beautifully decorated, everything you could possibly need.
Views from the deck were spectacular.
It was a HOME away from home.
We will definitely be returning.
comfortable and convenient
Owner provided detailed information about the property and surrounding attractions. House is updated and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Enjoyed the view in this quiet neighborhood, even saw a bald eagle! Location is great for exploring the area, Thanks for a great vacation!
Beautiful house with a great view!
We had a beautiful week at this house. Location super convenient to our favorite beach and easy access to Rt 1 for day trips to points north.
