We enjoyed the location and the home.

Property is clean and well located. More than enough space for the 7 of us. Communication directly with Scott (owner) was always pleasant and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back next year.

We traveled to Tannersville for a family wedding and thought it would be a fun idea to rent a house with friends. The space this house offered made it a roomy option but not necessarily a relaxing option. Beware of these details:

- You must provide your own linens and towels. This was difficult for us because we were traveling by plane.

- You must provide your own toilet paper and paper towels.

- You will be given a LONG list of items you are responsible for cleaning before you check out. This includes doing all dishes, wiping down the kitchen counters, cleaning the stainless steel appliances, and cleaning the stove top.

- You will also be responsible for sweeping and vacuuming the main living area and taking out the trash. All this before a 10 am check out.

- We termed the property manager Persnickety with very demanding instructions on parking, the thermostat and the security system.

Stay here if you’d like the extra room but don’t expect your stay to br relaxing.

Awesome house

I will start with the positive which is the house was in good condition and had a beautiful view.

When you arrive you will find that the carpets are old and dingy, the couches need replacing along with the TV’s which were not even from this decade, pillows are paper thin and the sheets, which you will need to pay for separately if you want them provided are old and torn. The stairs outside are dangerously steep and need to be repaired. Probably why they are not featured in any photos

Once all payments were made I was given a lengthy checklist for the stay. This was sent directly from the owner not through VRBO. Among other things it stated that we were only permitted 2 vehicles and all others had to park in an over flow lot that was NOWHERE near the home. Upon arrival many photos were taken documenting damages such as a hole in the door , broken recliner , stained floor and broken door frames just to name a few. I informed Scott of these things in case he wanted to see the photos and he replied “a house is a house”. I wanted to be sure it wasn’t deducted from my security fee. . We then proceeded to make up our own beds with the tattered sheets that were left on the edge of each bed for us to put on the bed ourselves

Upon departing we followed the extensive check list which included NUMEROUS cleaning tasks such as vacuum/mop the floors, clean the bathrooms, clean the kitchen using stainless steel cleaner, shut off the lights and close the blinds just to name a few and yes there was a cleaning fee included with the stay.

Days later I received a nasty email from Scott regarding my stay. It implied his perfectly immaculate home was left “disgusting “and the check list wasn’t followed. He didn’t provide any proof supporting his claim other than an email from his cleaning crew Which included complaints of “a wrapper on the floor , and “disgusting “ bathrooms , a light left on and a blind left open, It also stated I was to reply ASAP as to why his home was left this way. Despite following the extensive checklist I was still being told the house was left “disgusting “Scott was condescending and rude in each and every email correspondence.

I’m shocked anyone had anything positive to say about Scott in any review. I’m sure you will see his true character if he responds to this review although his saving grace would be to say nothing, accept this constructive criticism, learn from it and last but not least learn how to treat paying customers!
