About Ken Kotner
I have been living in Hawaii with my family since 2001. My kids are now in college. The Paikapahu house is my new home. I set up the rental unit to help pay for college for my two daughters. I have been a farmer and a massage therapist for the past 10 years. I have a beautiful massage and bodywork studio on the Paikapahu House Property. I work on many travelers as well as my regular clients. I have hosted travelers for several years at my previous residence, Kealaola Farm. I enjoy hosting, gardening and refereeing soccer for fun and fitness.

We had a wonderful time at Ken’s place. It has a stunning view over the ocean and a beautiful garden. The kids were excited with the fruits and cocoa trees. Wonderful location and we would love to come back.
Our stay was very much enjoyed... the owner Ken is cool, so is Courtney!
If you want to see the beautiful countryside of Honaunau - rent this house, live in it for a couple of day, enjoy, you wont be sorry!... The price is right, the owner is cool... We'll be going back, for sure!... a hui hou, malama pono!
Great place and great hosts!
We enjoyed our stay at the Paikapahu House. The home is comfortable and spacious. The Kotner's were excellent hosts. We certainly recommend the Paikapahu House to anyone seeking a clean, well outfitted, and reasonably priced home in the Kona area. Thanks for the wonderful stay. Shane
Great location and comfortable staying
My family along with my parents 6 people in total had a wonderful stay at Ken’s place during the Christmas period. It was a very comfortable 3 nights. Kids love the smoothies made from the fruits Ken provided in the fridge. The house has a great location and many sight seeings are about 5-15 minutes from the house, such as 2-steps, a national park, coffee mill, painted church, Hawaii’s oldest restaurant, etc. Ken’s kind help on opening our coconut was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely stay again if we come back.
Great place in Captain Cook
We had a great time in Captain Cook on a recent trip to big island. Ken was very helpful to direct us to the nearby stores. Place is very nice and all amenities.
We only stayed here one night before heading to a resort, but it was a fantastic stay! The view of the bay was great especially at sunset. The beds were very comfy and we enjoyed being able to use the TV in the living room for Netflix as well as the provided Wifi. There were snorkels and goggles provided and I highly recommend putting them to use!
