Lovely villa, amazing pool
The description does not do this villa justice. The rooms are all a good size, the living area (which is a separate building to the bedrooms) is a good size. We had 8 staying - all teenagers to adult, and we had enough room for everyone.
The pool, is amazing. Its approx 15m x 7m, with a deep end of over 3m. Perfect for swimming, and stays cool enough for high summer temperatures, which we felt this last 2 weeks!
The villa is less than 2km from Iznajar - a walk that isn't impossible even in the mid day sun (just a couple of little hills!) and you must check out bar verde for amazing food and a great welcome.(especially if an English speaker). There are other restaurants in the area - casa juani, and the 2 near the playa, plus the top of town that are good as well.
It is approx 3kms to the beach on the reservoir where there are 2 restaurants as well as kayake/pedallo/paddle board hire and a lake cruise boat, it is lovely to swim in the reservoir on a a very quiet beach that also has sun loungers and parasols to hire if needed.
This is a villa that is away from tourist resorts so make sure if you are arriving late Saturday that you have all you need on a Sunday as the only shops that are open are the petrol stations (which are surprisingly well equipped). If you like to cook at home instead of going out, the villa can just about cope with a good hob and a counter top oven, but an excellant sized BBQ out back.
The manager responds to any queries promptly, and the owners will do everything to make sure the stay is perfect.
I would thoroughly recommend staying at this villa and would do so again if we were in the area.
My husband also believes it is a brilliant base for mountain running training, altitude/climbing cyclists or triathletes.
Wonderful stay, with a wonderful pool
We had an amazing holiday in Iznajar, Spain in July 2019. There was plenty of space for our family of two parents plus two teenagers. The kitchen included everything we needed to cater for two weeks. The fridge had enough space for everything we bought. It got really hot (37 degrees) and so we spent a lot of time in the pool. It was the biggest, deepest pool we've ever had on a villa holiday.
It's not far to Malaga and a nearby national park. The supermarket in Rute had everything we needed. The local manager was very responsive by text in good English and the owners were delightful although we communicated mostly via Google Translate and our minimal Spanish.
Overall an excellent property. We would recommend it.
Beautiful view and great pool
House was as advertised. Great big pool and stunning view. Location is good for sightseeing. Easy communication with agent.
My only negatives are the kitchen isn’t very big, and lots of flies come if you leave anything sticky - so you need to be militant about food, rubbish and toddlers!
Very impressive villa
The contact with the owner and representative was very clear and very prompt. The house is stunning in a beautiful location with excellent facilities provided throughout. The village is lovely we missed the fiesta which was starting the day we left unfortunately. Two of the bedrooms are interlinked making it ideal for families with younger children, the pool is great and we spent most of our time in it during our stay. Would not hesitate in going back and would hugely recommend for a fantastic break away from it all but with everything easily accessible. Thank you very much
Beautiful villa in the countryside
We enjoyed 3 beautiful weeks at this house, enjoying peaceful views of the lake and surrounding olive groves. The huge pool was very welcome as temperatures neared 40c. It is in a great location - a short drive from the village of Iznájar - but also very convenient for day trips to Granada, Córdoba, Seville and Malaga; all of which are between an hour and 1 hour 30 mins away. The village and surrounding area has some lovely restaurants (Casa Juani and El Charcon) but the kitchen in the villa is adequately equipped to cook your own meals and enjoy them under the Andalusian starry skies, which we never grew tired of watching!
Manuel, the owner, was on hand if needed and José was very helpful and efficient throughout the booking process and beyond - thank you José!
We would definitely return here to Los Alamos to explore the area further, as there is so much to see and do.
Wonderful, peaceful and relaxing holiday.
This is a very well equipped villa with wonderful views.
The pool is excellent. The villa is in a very rural location surrounded by olive groves. We enjoyed hearing the faint sound of the goats going to and fro at the beginning and end of each day!
The kitchen is very well equipped. We cooked a lot both indoors and on the BBQ. The table top oven was sufficient to roast a whole chicken prior to finishing it off on the BBQ.
Manuel popped in a couple of times to clean the pool etc. So we knew that the owners could be contacted if we needed them at any point (but we didn’t).
We went to Granada and the Al Hambra, both just over an hour away. We ate at La Paloma near Archidona which is great. The nearest big(ish) supermarket was at Rute.
We loved it so much that we plan to return!
