About Greg and Gretl Kleponis
Greg and I live in Ancient Corinth, on mainland Greece (an hour's drive from Piraeus port). We are both retired and recently discovered this gem of an island. We have spent the last few months renovating and modernising this cottage which we ourselves, and friends and family regularly use.
Greg and Gretl Kleponis purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Greg and Gretl Kleponis chose Agkistri
We chose to buy this cottage because it is the perfect size - compact, yet offers all that is needed. It is a charming, stone cottage in a truly authentic Greek village. It has wonderfully private and quiet outdoor spaces. We also love the fact that we can walk everywhere. Finally, it is the wooded hills - views of them and walking in them which caught our hearts. Agistri means 'fisherman's hook' and was apparently named so because once visited, you are hooked.
What makes this Cottage unique
Tranquil, yet very close to livelier nightlife (in Skala) and major attractions are easily visited on day-trips.

Small and cozy cottage
The house is small but very cosy. It really felt as being part of this small greek village because the house is in the middle of it with everything so close. The people around there were very friendly and welcoming. Altogether a very good experience.
Idyllic retreat within striking distance of all that is needed.
The house was exactly what we were looking for - comfortable, well-equipped and very well-located at the end of a quiet lane. All the equipment in the house worked and there was always someone on hand to help if needed. There are a bakery and small food store just round the corner and several places to eat out not far away. Most of the night life on Agistri is in the small town of Skala so Megalochri is left alone to enjoy its own peace and quiet. However if night life is what you want then Skala is just a 20 minute walk away along the sea front. A ten minute walk takes you to the harbour from where a Flying Dolphin can take you to Piraeus in just under one hour and to neighbouring Aegina in 15 minutes. We had a wonderful week and would certainly return.
Fantastic could of stayed there forever will definitely be back
Cottage has everything you could possibly need our granddaughter loved the raised bed
Amazing garden and we had beautiful weather for October
Fantastic little cottage!
Have been visiting Agistri for many years and was lovely to return especially finding this little gem of a cottage to stay in. The cottage offers everything you need for your stay, BBQ, full kitchen facilities, a beautiful courtyard which is fantastic for enjoying the beautiful weather and eating breakfast. The upper deck offers some great views and is a fab sun trap. Would recommend to anyone looking to make a home away from home. Hope to return next year, thanks Greg and Gretl 😊
Excellent. Delivered what it promised.
We came just off season, which was great because we needed somewhere quiet to write but somewhere that had just enough infrastructure to make eating in or eating out possible. The cottage and its facilities made our stay perfect for this. We could shop locally or walk down to the harbour to eat. Or walk to the next village for more choice. The house is well equipped, the beds are comfortable and the outside spaces are well thought out.
Lovely quaint house in the perfect island location
Our little family of three had a lovely stay in the cottage. It really has been beautifully done up and is in the perfect location for everything: beach, supermarket, bakery and so on. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay on the island. My husband in particular loved the "spitaki" barbecue outside!
Fotis Taverna is the nearest, but there is also an excellent restaurant overlooking the port, 125 metres away, called The Mandraki. Other bars, cafes and restaurants line the beach front, all within a 5 minute walk.
