About Barb Morris
Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 27 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward takes weekend breaks from his Computer Consulting career to tend to over 1500 grapevines on the property and looks forward each fall to harvest time.
Barb Morris purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Barb Morris chose Camdenton
This property is across the highway from Ward & Barb's home and was purchased to expand the VRBO offerings to include a golf course community home but can also enjoy the serene location and amenities of our other 2 properties located at the Sugarloaf Vineyard.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with the quiet side of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the month February you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. This actually inspired the name of one of Sugarloaf Vineyards wines; the White Pelican, a dry white Chardonel. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. And of course, several deer like to walk through the golf course at dusk and dawn. It's a great getaway couples setting, or for a small family or, combined with the other 2 Sugarloaf Rental properties, great for reunions or to get away from the city.

We have stayed at Kinderhook many times over many years. The Morris’ properties are clean, well-maintained and they are a pleasure to deal with.
Another Great Stay!
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway! Thanks! :)
We had a great experience here. We enjoyed kayaking close by through the rental and will definitely stay at the cabin again when we are back in the lake area.
I love Old Kinderhook however the trip wasn't taken my husband died the weekend before.
I would love to go there again some day.
Barb is so amazing and the pool IS AWESOME
Amazing weekend retreat!
We had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean and very cute! Lots to do at the resort! Only thing I wanna suggest would put in lights in the parking lot! So very dark and dangerous! We will be back!
