New Year hideaway
Churnet Lodge is clean, cosy and quiet, just what I needed this new year. I enjoyed exploring Cheddleton, the canal, the flint mill and the buttercross and spent half a day at the mag Froghall Wharf. A plan to explore Rudyard lake and tittesworth Reservoir was scuppered by torrential rain but nevertheless I had a lovely stay.
