In the Barolo zone, a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home with pool for up to 12
- english, french, portuguese, italian
I'm Allegra. My husband and I moved to Piemonte in 2012 to follow our dream of living in Italy and renovating an old farmhouse. The Barolo area captivated us on our first visit and we knew straight away it was the place we should be. It really is the most beautiful place in the world, in every season. Finding the right property took a while, but we got there in the end! Having completed the renovation in 2015 we decided it would be a shame not to share this wonderful place! With our little daughter Bee, we live next door to Villa Ribota, in another part of the same farmhouse, though the two properties are separated by a large hedge and the Villa is completely private.
Allegra purchased this House in 2013
Why Allegra chose Novello
The first thing we fell in love with was the location... the house is surrounded by vines, in the peace and quiet of the countryside, but in just a few minutes you can be in any of the Barolo villages. We have great wine, great food, fresh air, views, wine again, truffles, cycling, walking... what more do you need? The Langhe really is heaven on earth! The locals are super friendly and the weather is amazing in every season. And the house is right in the heart of it! We love it here and we hope you will too!
What makes this House unique
Location, location and swimming pool! Though the location was what first attracted us, we think we have created a unique place... comfortable but with a high quality finish, and of course the swimming pool with beautiful views out across the vines. Don't stay near the Barolo zone, stay right in it, surrounded by the Nebbiolo vines that are used to make the wine!

dream vacations do come true
The property is so perfect. We were 4 families with kids and enjoyed every moment of our trip. Allegra was super helpful in connecting us to childcare and pointing us in the right direction for wine. I would totally recommend staying here and I will for sure be back!
Fantastic Villa Getaway
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location, nor a more enjoyable place to spend a week with friends. Villa Ribota offers spacious rooms, new bathrooms, a refreshing pool and magnificent views. The outdoor gathering space was our favorite place to spend our time and we enjoyed having a kitchen and grill for those times we cooked for ourselves. Richard and Allegra's hospitality in setting up wine tasting, Vespas and electric bikes as well as arranging for chef services was an added bonus. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Villa Ribota and hope to return to this treasure of a spot in Italy someday soon.
What's not to love about a fabulous property nestled amongst the Barolo vineyards with jaw dropping views, a pool, and an impeccably decorated and immaculate home with owners who are so charming, welcoming and helpful?
We just spent an amazing week at Villa Ribota thanks to Alegra, Richard and little Bea for making it so. They were so helpful arranging wine tastings, dinner reservations and cooking classes. All of which we enjoyed immensely and certainly wouldn't have found if left to our own devices! We are all looking forward to a return trip very soon.
Thanks for your lovely review, Lisa. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and we're so glad you enjoyed your time here. We look forward to seeing you again some time!
Pefect and peaceful getaway
Had a the most wonderful weekend at Villa Ribota! Rich and Allegra had some amazing contacts so we were able to do several wine tastings and explore the region more efficiently. One of the wines was so great that we even chose to ship some home for our upcoming wedding.
The villa itself was spectacular! The trip that much easier by having a full kitchen and a grocery store just a short ride away. We shared the space with three other couples and there was more than enough privacy for everyone.
Being American and speaking a minimal amount of Italian, it was easy to work through the booking process and sleeping arrangements prior to our arrival.
Fabulous, Nestled in vineyards, Beautiful rooms
I've found myself looking at villas again as we are planning another trip to Piedmont this Autumn. My friends (8 of us in total) and I had such a wonderful time at Villa Ribota last October that I had to review it. We are foodies and winelovers. The villa was perfectly placed surrounded by vineyards and the fall colours of the vineyards were just breathtaking. It's an easy drive to Alba, I mention this in particular as the truffle festival was on. We were lucky enough to hold and smell black and white truffles that were big enough to fill our hands. I treated myself to white one that we shaved on fried eggs.
It's a family run villa, immaculate, beautifully decorated with great sized rooms. The kitchen is really well equipped and the dining table a really great size for long evening meals if you want to stay in as it's self-catering. Rich and Allegra gave us great advice on vineyards to visit, local restaurants, day trips and hikes. A car is a must to get to nearby restaurants and towns. Do ask them about speciality pizzas at the local pizzeria Gothic Pizza.
Wow, what a stunning find! Villa Ribota is a beautifully restored Langhe farmhouse in the wine region of Piedmonte.
The house itself is spacious, but homely with all the mod cons and home comforts. Each room is unique and uncluttered. Bathrooms are high spec and most rooms have big French Windows which overlook the vineyards. The pool is lovely and there's a great patio for outdoor dining. The hosts Rich and Allegra are very willing to help out with anything from matters to do with the house, or advice on the area. Both speak Italian which helps enormously for booking things!
The area itself is perfect if you're adventurous or just fancy a relaxing holiday. We cycled and walked in the area and visited several very friendly vineyards. There is skiing nearby too in the winter and a golf course on the doorstep. You will need scar to get yourself about, but even then several villages are within walking/ cycling distance.
A real gem of a place to stay and highly recommended!
The house is in the UNESCO Barolo Zone, an area of rolling vineyards encompassing just 11 villages within which Barolo wine can be produced. We are surrounded by vines and you can walk to our nearest wine producer. We are just a few minutes' drive from beautiful villages like La Morra, Monforte d'Alba and Barolo, yet enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Wine tasting here in the Langhe is a unique experience... you sit around a table with the producer as they open bottle after bottle of their wines for you to taste and tell you all about their family, their lives and of course, their wine.
