This cozy old farmhouse is surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian Mtns and Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a Great family getaway for the adventurous at heart. Take a hike to the Blue Ridge Parkway for spectacular views or spend the afternoon swinging on the hammock next to the creek while taking in the sounds of nature. Home is surrounded by Christmas trees, small animal livestock and a natural water collection site.

Home was newly remodeled but still retains that old country charm. A fully equipped kitchen will meet all your baking needs.

Wheelchair accessible main floor bedroom and bathroom (bathroom is not en suite). Laundry facility available, satellite flatscreen TV and internet.

Farm is conveniently located 10 to 15 miles from Boone, Blowing Rock, Jefferson, Wilkesboro and App State University. Appalachian Ski Mtn is 20 miles near and All other ski resorts are 30 miles nearby. Great shopping and restaurants in all directions within minutes.

Birthday & AppState football weekend

The property is exactly as described. 1920s house, some upgrades with flooring, kitchen & bathrooms. There's 3 firepits (1 gas, 2 wood burning). Tankless water heater so you don't have to worry about running out of water. Gas stove, plenty of pots, pans and baking dishes. Beware of low ceilings if you are over 6 foot. There's no bathroom inside a bedroom so they are both shared. Not sure how comfortable it would be in the warmer summer months. We loved our time here and would definitely consider it again.

A cute country farmhouse

We had a wonderful time at this quaint farmhouse. We spent new years there with our family. We took a short ride to Tweetsie railroad for the children and they had a blast. This is a great place to stay for a couple or an entire family! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!

great fall week

very enjoyable beautiful country setting well stocked kitchen responsive hosts enjoyed the fire pit only drawback was our reactive dogs to the trucks at the bottling plant would love to stay again in the summer would love the creek and hammocks

My husband and I love travel, adventure and meeting new people. Eddie spent many many summers and weekends helping his grandfather plow these fields, chase cattle and sheep and four wheeling on the old Willis jeep before 4 wheelers were ever invented. Years later he would move to the old home place, raise and teach his 3 children to love and take care of the land. Our goal is to live off the land and one day transform the farm to the days of power run from an old water wheel.

Why they chose this property

We want to share the beauty and uniqueness of our farm. This property dates back to the settlers in the early 1800; this is 6 generations of Greene's. A unique experience in country living.
