Charming Apartment, Perfect Location
This place had was a PERFECT location in Valletta. Walking distance to everywhere!! We had an incredible stay. The owner is great to communicate with - very prompt with responses. The pictures are accurate. HIGHLY recommend booking this place. In the bathroom, there is minor moisture to note, but we anticipated that because of it being basement setting with stone walls. Lovely, lovely place. Thank you, Joseph!
Lovely quaint house
Ideal location in the heart of historic Valletta. Perfect for a short stay in the capital. Really lovely little house , full of charm, well equipped and spotless. Good communication with owner, definitely recommend.
If you like the company of rats, noise and humidity ....
The bathroom / WC has been converted into the cellar. It is a blind room that stinks of humidity. At the first shower, the walls and floor are covered with water, the towels are filled with water, impossible to dry anything. The humidity extractor that runs 24 hours a day is useless except to make noise. A stained orange curtain obscures a window overlooking a black well (the gap between the two buildings) and a view of sewage disposal.
The kitchen / dining area / living room is located below the road level. The entrance door of the dwelling is the only source of natural light. But as there is no window, the room is completely dark once the shutter that hides closed. No dish drainer, no broom, no mop to do a minimum of cleanliness, the trash is dirty ....
Only the bedroom is above the street level. The only opening closes with a shutter that is not even joined; she does not have glass either. The "balcony" is occupied by the air conditioner; do not expect to lounging there. The bed is bad, the springs of the mattress you enter the ribs. The mattress is stained and of course not protected by an awning.
The accommodation is very noisy. Located below the road, and at the bottom of the slope, the vehicles speed up just at the housing level. The noise is infernal when trucks are passing. There is no window at the openings, so do not expect to isolate yourself from the noise. You live as if you were in the street.
This accommodation has no charm or attraction. The discomfort of this accommodation ruined my stay, which I also shortened. I had booked for 8 days. By necessity, having not found a flight available to return earlier, I spent 4 nights there.
The fourth night I fell in front of a rat in the kitchen. He escaped through the bathroom. I have not slept all night, luckily it was the last. The next day I spotted holes in the wall through which he had entered. Some clogged to go fast with paper. And an anti-rat product was hanging in one of the cupboards. It was not the first time that rats had visited this dwelling. It is very likely that they visit it every night.
In 20 years of traveling, I have not found a more nightmarish accommodation. We are very far from the typical Maltese house, rather than the rat hole.
