Could have been so Great, but...
1. Check-in/Check-out -- No welcome package with keys, or instructions.
2. Property condition – The house had a mildew odor, bad smell in laundry room, and bathrooms. Dirt/mold along the baseboards, and several beds and mattresses in bad condition. After the first night several family members opted to get a hotel room. The property does not meet the standards of quality condition and cleanliness that we have previously experienced with VRBO properties. Below list major issues. - Dirty air vents. Old worn-out bedding, including pillows.
- Shortage of bed linen/blankets and bath towels, soap dispensers were empty or clogged.
- House windows very dirty, no curtains in bedrooms.
- Kitchen sink didn't drain, and faucet lever broken.
- Excessive noise from AC unit outside bedroom.
- Broken ceiling fans.
- Lack of dressers/drawer space and hangers.
- Family room sofa broken.
- Broken wall art.
- Hot tub water was foggy, strong odor, not used.
- Missing/broken TV remotes, no instructions.
- The bridge over the pond is a dilapidated, hazard.
3. Amenities -- The VRBO page advertised the boathouse, kayaks, swimming, etc. Official at the community center told us the owner was in violation of community regulations, under a court injunction, and none of these facilities would be available. This situation not explained on the VRBO page when we initiated the rental contract 01/01/24. An uncomfortable situation for us to contend.
