Binalong Bay is a great destination for couples. With pristine beaches at it's door step and surrounded by natural bush, the area offers something for everybody. The region is a bush walkers paradise, with many tracks beginning almost at the doorstep of "The Loft". Book a boat trip with Bay of Fires Eco Tours and see the whole of the Bay of Fires from the water. Or launch your own boat from the unique Binalong Gulch to enjoy Tasmania's premier game fishing areas or explore the endless white sand and crystal clear waters of the numerous beaches. Book the local tennis court for a hit of tennis down on the waterfront, or have a BBQ down on the green. Walk down and dine at the newly renovated Lichen Restaurant which has fantastic food and great service. Open most days from 8am
Jump in the car and take a short 10 minutes drive into St Helens where you can visit the galleries, the collectibles store, see the local craftsman at work at Knut Mueller Jewellery, and take a stroll down to the waterfront. If you like golf there is a pleasant little golf course.
A little further afield takes you to the St Columbia Falls, the Pyengana Cheese Factory, the Pub in the Paddock, the Shop in the Bush, and even the famous Blue Tiers. Or drive south along the coast and visit Bicheno, where you can see the blowhole and visit Nature World to meet the cute Tasmanian Devils and lots more wildlife. What about a visit to Wineglass Bay at Freycinet or the wineries and a boutique beer brewery - whatever takes your fancy. Binalong Bay was voted by a well known travel magazine as the second best beach in the world.
About Robyn Hollingsworth
My husband and I have lived at Binalong Bay for 28 years but recently went away to NSW to trial living there. During this time, we holiday let our home very successfully and had many happy guests who just loved “Seascape”. We returned to our home which is nestled between Humbug National Park and the Bay of Fires conservation area, overlooking Skeleton Bay, realising that Binalong Bay is the best place to live in the world with its beautiful white beaches and crystal-clear sea. We also knew that previous guests wished to stay here again so we built “The Loft” alongside our home which is now available for bookings, providing an opportunity for others to enjoy everything that this part of the world offers. Peace and tranquillity with opportunity for bush walking, fishing, cycling, dining, whale watching to name a few activities that can be undertaken in the area.
Robyn Hollingsworth purchased this Apartment in 2017
Why Robyn Hollingsworth chose Binalong Bay
The house was bought 28 years ago for its unique position overlooking the sea and close to a national park, to bring up a family in the natural environment of The Bay of Fires. In retirement it was decided to share all this beauty with others by building "The Loft".
What makes this Apartment unique
The house was designed by an architect and built in 1980 to make the most of its position on the block. It was certainly achieved and continues to this day to amaze guests with its views and surroundings evoking a feeling of peace and serenity. "The Loft" is upmarket with its furniture and fittings providing guests with breakfast provisions and everything that may be needed to self cater.
