Great Location and Relaxing
The location of the property is close proximity to great restaurants in town and coffee shops. We had a private chef that was able to prepare brunch before our wine tours and dinner upon our return. The pool was great to relax in and the location was quiet.

The park at the end of the street was a pleasant surprise! It made for a beautiful walk.
The park at the end of the street was a pleasant surprise! It made for a beautiful walk. Loved the home's exterior lights as well. Kate was amazing! It was an extremely last minute booking. She replied to my inquiry via email within minutes. Followed up with multiple phone calls and went out of her way to make our stay possible. She was pleasant, professional and all around great to deal with.

The design was modern and tranquil! The hardwood flooring was exceptional in beauty.
The design was modern and tranquil! The hardwood flooring was exceptional in beauty. The house felt like a private art meuseum and had so much fun looking at all the house had to offer with an international flair but felt like home. As for the pool, I only wish it was a tad warmer during our time so we could have enjoyed the serine surroundings more!

I hate surveys like this, and try not to do them.
I hate surveys like this, and try not to do them. This home (Woolen Mills) was striking, fun, distinctive, unusual and beautiful. We were clearly satisfied. A few notes: "Woolen Mills" covers a large area, and is not uniform. Some properties are very blue collar or not well kept; some have been restored. Some are big; some small. Some ratty. The views from some of our exposures were great; some were, er, uh not so good. To try to be more specific: drive-up: a bit strange, but we can handle it. I had led myself to believe that we/our car would be within a secure enclosure, so it was a surprise to see that we would be inside with car outside, and nothing to secure us...I do not travel with a little lock that could provide peace of mind while we were gone or as we slept...but, for us: not a big deal; for many: deal killer! I am strong enough to carry my bag (we were traveling for a week) up the steps, but many, many my age (50th reunion) would have had a very difficult time getting luggage into the house. Loved the house; tons of style. There were two of us; I would not have wanted three couples there. We were happy! There was one thing to be (easily) improved. I love to try to minimize use of electricity. We own two homes which we rent for vacation travelers. In one of them our agent labels all of the light switches. In the other it is self-apparent that switches match with certain lights. This place seemed to have no pattern, order or logic. Consequently, we often left things on because we could not readily determine how to turn it off. The "sleekness" of the modern interior would be undermined with labels, but I suggest that a lighting chart be prepared and available. Likewise, some plugs seemed not to work. These are not big things, but they led to our using more power than I would have liked. Overall this was a very high quality rental. Not wild about the neighborhood, but there is MUCH that is knock-out attractive. The pool is beautiful; drive-up appeal at night with proper lighting: top drawer. But, I emphasize, I think many would wish that they could lock their belongings in (other than front door) when they left, and lock themselves in at night...and maybe lock the car in. But, these things did not bother us. SUPERB! more: love visiting Cville; no desire to live there; have three other homes in other places I prefer Use of comments: OK. Use of my name: NO!

The house is quite nice -- striking architecture, beautiful views, and great spaces.
The house is quite nice -- striking architecture, beautiful views, and great spaces. That said, it is getting "tired." It has quite a few examples of worn furniture (examples of this: one set of outside wicker chairs that we decided were so worn that we shouldn't sit on them lest they collapse; the coffee table on the top deck that already had wicker that had deteriorated; the cushions on the top deck that were so flattened that we had to bring up cushions/pillows from elsewhere to sit on the outside couch; ragged upholstery on the main living room couch) and similar evidence of needed repair and maintenance. Additionally, there were small things that surprised us -- soap dispenser that didn't work in the bathroom (we used the one from the kitchen), the pool that we had to skim (a lot!), etc. By the way, though it only happened infrequently, the very long freight trains passing less than 25 feet from the side of the property were also surprising! All these things are notable for a property of this cost (nearly $2000 for two days!). The team was very helpful during the reservation process and with following questions.
