Relax in your own Hawaiian "tree house", surrounded by mature island trees and refreshing trade winds. King bed in the master bedroom and a queen in the guest bedroom. On-site parking is included, as well as beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and beach umbrellas.

Just 2.5 miles from Kailua Town which offers several outfitters for all of your ocean activity equipment needs, as well as bicycle rentals, grocery, boutiques, gift shops, farmers market, and a variety of great restaurants.

Ensure a trouble-free stay by staying in our licensed short-term rental. Effective April 2022, the City and County of Honolulu passed Bill 41 which has imposed strict enforcement on vacation rentals that do not possess a Nonconforming Use Certificate (NUC). Our NUC allows us to rent nightly, versus the minimum of thirty (30) nights without this certificate. The last issuance of NUC Certificates was in 1989.

Applicable Hawaii general excise tax a "GET" (currently 4.166%), applicable transient accommodations tax "TAT" (currently 10.25%), Honolulu Surcharge Tax (.5%), and Oahu transient accommodations tax "OTAT" (currently 3.0%) will be added to the Daily Rental Rate, Cleaning Fees, and all other charges payable by Principal Guest(s) to Agent under this Rental Agreement. Should the State of Hawaii raise either the transient accommodations tax (TAT), general excise tax (GET), or Oahu transient accommodations tax "OTAT", we will amend all applicable reservations and collect the additional tax(s) from Guests, before check-in.

For stays of 10 - 19 Nights, we collect an additional $150.00, for a mid-stay cleaning fee, plus applicable taxes.

NOTICE OF NEIGHBORING CONSTRUCTION:
As of Tuesday, April 09, 2024, the neighboring construction site update is as follows: The home is completely closed in, with the next portion of the exterior to be painted. The home has been roofed as well. The work has moved inside with continued framing, infrastructure, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and cabinetry. The timeline for completion seems to be 2 - 3 additional months as there are considerable custom fixtures, finishes, landscaping, and finally the fence to be installed between our two properties.
There is a 14' privacy screen around the entire subject construction site.

The construction process is estimated to take approximately one year to complete. 

While we aim to provide an enjoyable experience for our guests, it's essential to be aware that this neighboring construction project may lead to unforeseen inconveniences and delays. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee the precise timeline or the extent of its impact during your stay.

Possible impacts may include, but are not limited to:

Noise Disruptions: The construction will involve noisy activities, such as power tool usage, drilling, hammering, heavy machinery operations, crew conversation, and other audible noises. These noises could disrupt your peace and tranquility during your stay.

Dust and Debris: Construction activities often generate dust and debris, potentially affecting the cleanliness and air quality in the vicinity.

We encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns before finalizing your reservation. By acknowledging and accepting this notice, you confirm that you are aware of the potential impacts associated with the neighboring construction project which is to the best of our knowledge.

Please note that your acceptance of this notice shall not alter the agreed-upon price or terms of your Rental Agreement. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting you in our vacation rental properties.

The Lanikai Beach Tree House is a five star gem. It’s an excellent location in a friendly, quiet neighborhood with easy access to the best beach on Oahu. Rick and Nini were very welcoming and accommodative hosts whose recommendations for all activities were spot on. Nearby Kailua offers a variety of quality restaurants with convenient shopping for groceries, souvenirs, and clothing. In addition, we enjoyed the local food and craft fairs. The Lanikai Beach Tree House is purposefully decorated with tasteful motifs that set a true island atmosphere. Also provided were beach supplies including chairs, coolers, towels, and beach bags. We wanted for nothing! Our three week stay was truly an anniversary in Paradise and our favorite stay among our dozen visits to the Islands. Mahalo, Hunt and Susan S.

Lanikai Treehouse Magic
We recently stayed for a week in the Lanikai Treehouse. I selected it because of its location and to fulfill my father's final wishes to return his ashes to Lanikai. There were so many special memories made here....both past and present. The hosts showed great hospitality and our entire stay was magical!

Shhh…
Instinctively, I’m inclined to keep this little gem a secret…and protect the owners, Rick and Nini, from anyone who might not appreciate the incredible hospitality, charm, and comfort that we found here. I’ve stayed in dozens of places around the Hawaiian islands …none with a better location, overall, or a more relaxing and authentically Hawaiian environment. No elevators, no crowds, no need for air conditioning, or keys or earplugs. We stayed for two weeks and barely moved our rental car. Ok, so the secret’s out….now keep it to yourself :)

Rick is fortunate to have grown up here in Lanikai and reside in his childhood home with his wife Nini, three daughters, and two dogs; Tom and Daisie. We have hosted countless guests from around the world, many are annual repeat guests that we consider family!
Rick loves fishing! Many of our guests have enjoyed an outing on our glass bottom boat for a day of sightseeing, light tackle fishing, and sea-life exploration. We also love spending time in our sister state - Alaska, where our eldest daughter calls home and where Rick has worked as a charter captain out of Seward, Alaska.
