Large recently remodeled ski-in ski-out end unit condo with modern kitchen and new carpet and tile floors. Enjoy amazing views of the mountains and Crested Butte from the west-facing, large balcony accessible from the living room and two bedrooms. The first floor has living room, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom (with private bath), and 2 bedrooms with hall bath. The second floor has a loft area with a queen bed and twin bunk, private bedroom, and large bathroom with closet. In all, there are 2 king beds, 3 queen beds, and 1 twin bed. There is a one flight set of stairs from the parking lot to the office and two flights of covered stairs from the 1st to the 3rd floor where the condo is located. The view from the condo is worth climbing the stairs.
Pets are considered. There is a fee of $25/day for 1 dog and $35/day for 2 dogs - maximum of $125 for 1 dog and $175 for 2 dogs.
At the end of the day, make a fire with wood provided by the condo in the beautiful stone fireplace in the living room.
The fully equipped kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, plus a microwave; coffee maker; toaster; large crock pot; pans and skillets of all sizes; and more than enough plates, glasses, and silverware for a large group. There is a pantry large enough to store the food for the entire group and is stocked with some spices and other necessities.
Books and games are available in the living room, and the loft area has an XBox 360 with games and a table with chairs--a perfect area for kids. There are 4 HDTVs--living room and 3 downstairs bedrooms, cable, iPod Dock/music player, stereo, VCR, & WiFi.
There is new locally-built outdoor furniture on the deck to be able to enjoy the views from outside with a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.
Two parking spaces will be issued from the office. During slower times, more permits may be allowed as space permits. If guests have more than 2 vehicles they may need to find alternate parking.
San Moritz Condos has a free shuttle service during ski season that will take you anywhere in Mt. Crested Butte or Crested Butte from 8 a.m. till midnight. There is also a free bus all year that runs frequently between Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte. There is a sauna and hot tub (hot tub is open only during the ski season) in the building, with sign up sheets for the hot tub so it is private. Weber Charcoal grills are available for guest use in the common area.
Ski-in ski-out is a major plus--you can take a break during the day, come in, relax, have a bite to eat and then go out for the rest of the day. The run down to the condo is one of the best on the mountain with beautiful views. For beginning skiiers who may not be comfortable on this slope, the free shuttle will take them to the base in just a few minutes. After the lifts close in the afternoon, some of the best sledding is on the hill next to the condo.
Besides downhill skiing in the winter, there is cross country skiing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, and many other winter activities.
In the summer there is plenty to do at the base: take the lift to the top and hike or bike down, there are also activities for the kids--rock climbing wall, trampoline with bungies, and mini golf. Other activities in the area--wildflower festival, hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, white water rafting on the Taylor, and many many miles of mountain roads to explore, plus numerous other activities.
