Modern, light, airy and quiet spacious one bedroom studio unit minutes to town
- english, French
We have been the owners for at least 14 years and have lived in this same street for 22 years. This property was transformed by us 5 years ago when we undertook building a major extension and separate building which is Studio Rouge.
Owner purchased this Apartment in 2004
Why Owner chose Bowral
This property tells an interesting story about part of the history of old Bowral. We chose to buy this property it to save some of that history which was being destroyed at that time. Many of the tools used by the saddler, whose wife lived here in the early 1930's and together until they passed the property on, were left behind in many of the sheds. We salvaged many of them and donated some to the Berrima Museum where they are on exhibit. It is so conveniently located in the heart of Bowral, in a very quiet and private location.
What makes this Apartment unique
This property offers a mix of the old and modern, featuring some sustainable elements like double glazing, extensive insulation with the living area facing north and is clad in mini orb. The Studio space is light and airy with considerable room to move and relax. If you step out onto Merrigang Street and head in any direction you will encounter ducks on the stream, a memorial walk which in takes you in and around the centre of Old Bowral or head up the hill and experience a challenging walk up "The Gib" through the unique vegetation and can learn more about our history on the way to the lookout.

Everything about Studio Rouge was great. The property is modern, comfortable, nicely decorated and clean.
It is located literally a few minutes out of the centre of Bowral but is very quiet and private.. With full cooking facilities you have the choice of cooking for yourself or eating out at the local restaurants.
All up a brilliant spot for a weekend away.
Studio Rouge - Great Weekend Getaway
Great space, private, close to town, clean with so many thoughtful touches. We had a really great weekend stay - start of winter but the studio was warm and cosy.

We had a great weekend stay at this lovely studio apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was modern with eclectic touches of art. Would recommend a stay here as it is walking distance to main Bowral shopping area.
We really enjoyed our stay! The place looks even better in real life, super cozy and clean! The location is perfect, close to everything we need!
Great accommodation in the southern highlands
My wife and I stayed at Studio Rouge for a weekend. We had a great time there. The cabin, if I can call it that, is a good size and well-furnished. It is located on a battle-axe block which has been nicely landscaped. The internet worked well - no dropouts. Our host provided some fresh fruit, chocolates and a variety of teas - which was a nice touch. Studio Rouge is a comfortable, flat 10-11 minute walk into the heart of town. I would heartily recommend it.
Bowral offers many points of interest from Restaurants like The Journeyman, Onessta Cucina Toshi's, Joshes, and BD's just to name a few. Cafes are numerous and I recommend South Hill and Coffee Culture as an example. The Annual Cycling Classic is held in October, not to mention the Bong Bong Races held towards the end of November. For the golfer there is the challenge of three golf courses in Bowral, and others at both Mittagong and Moss Vale. Horse riding, cycling, wine tasting, a visit to Bradman Museum, art galleries like Sturt and Bowral Art Gallery in Short Street Bowral are always exciting to visit. The early history of the area is fascinating, and can be seen within a short walk from Studio Rouge. The annual Tulip Festival, Food and Wine festival, Wedding Fair, Arts Festival, Open Gardens and Historic Homes bring thousands of tourists to the area annually and last but not least, the Autumn colours are spectacular and in Spring the the blossoms are picturesque.
