1 bed couples hunting lodge cabin retreat overlooking national parks
About Nicholas Hood
51yo local business owner who's lived here 10yrs. I rented Spike's Point for 7yrs and then it came up for sale 3 yrs ago and I have just finished renovating it into the hunting lodge cabin style retreat you see today. I grew up in Sydney but have lived in Adelaide for 12 yrs also and traveled a lot including as a ships barber on passenger liners
Nicholas Hood purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Nicholas Hood chose Blackheath
I found Spike's Point online 10yrs ago as a rental and moved here from Adelaide having never seen it in person. It was the best decision I ever made. I am an avid bush walker and relished living here after living on the beach which was also nice but I prefer bush.
What makes this Cabin unique
Have you ever travelled to the US or Canada to see a real log cabin? To be true to the shape and location of this cabin I chose to do it up as a mini barn style hunting lodge cabin. I have decorated with influences of old ships and barber and shearer relics. Having worked as a barber on ships and growing up on sheep farms you see bit of those influences here. :) It's an Aussie version of course :)
