About this property

A Unique Experience! Yurt Living In A Beautiful Wooded Setting!

Our yurt is located on twenty acres in Madison County with a one acre stocked fishing pond. Construction of the yurt was completed in August of 2015. A raised 46' x 64' deck completely surrounds the yurt so you can enjoy the outdoors as well as the indoors.

The bath features a large walk-in, multi-head shower with bench, a double vanity, and separate room with toilet. Other features include a 4-5 person Marquis Mirage hot tub, full kitchen, electric fireplace, spiral staircase to the open loft (note: the yurt is not suitable for children under five because of the staircase), wifi/Dish/landline, and an outdoor gas grill.

We are located 14 minutes (12.7 miles) from the HWY 74/16 intersection in Elkins, 30 minutes from Razorback Stadium (on non-game days), 30 minutes from the War Eagle Mill/War Eagle Cave (Onyx Cave is also nearby), 40 minutes from the Ozark Highlands Trailhead on the Pig Trail Scenic Byway , one hour from Crystal Bridges/Momentary and XNA, less than one hour (41 miles) from Ponca/Steel Creek/Lost Valley on the Buffalo National River, one hour from Hawksbill Craig (Whitaker Point), 40 minutes from Eureka Springs, 30 miles (23 gravel) from White Rock, and 25 minutes from Terra Studios in Durham. Perfect getaway
We were celebrating my retirement and our anniversary and this was the perfect spot! Sitting on the deck in morning to listen to the birds and take in the sunrise, soaking in the hot tub in the evening, taking a walk to see the horses through the day, and then getting to fish in the stocked pond was the highlight. We caught enough crappie to filet them and have a wonderful dinner. The owners are so kind and welcoming, and we will definitely be back!!!

Hidden Gem: A Tranquil Yurt Retreat Off the Beaten Path
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with tranquility and a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You have the option to completely unplug or you can easily connect to the WIFI. We had no problems with the connections. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the serene stocked pond just a short 200-foot walk from the yurt. Back at the yurt, we were delighted to discover the luxurious surround shower feature, and a bubbling hot tub to soak away any lingering stress or tension. The yurt itself was a cozy haven, with a comfortable bed that provided a restful night's sleep, a couch perfect for lounging, and an electric fireplace to take off the chill. We appreciated the thoughtful touches such as farm-fresh eggs, bacon, biscuits, and refreshing juice provided for breakfast, adding to the homely feel of the retreat. Everything you could need is provided and we did use the gas grill with no problems. Just bring your groceries and you'd never have to leave. However, for those seeking adventure, there are plenty of exciting outdoor activities just a short drive away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It felt like a home away from home.

Peaceful paradise
The yurt was absolutely perfect! My boyfriend and I needed a quiet weekend away and this exceeded our expectations. It is private and scenic. Beautifully decorated and full of amenities. We enjoyed the hot tub and the stars. We definitely plan to stay again very soon!

About the host

Hosted by Ann Love

Host profile image
We are retired educators and are U of A graduates. We moved to Northwest Arkansas from South Arkansas in 1993, just prior to the region's dramatic increase in population. We lived for 12 years west of Tontitown and for many years were able to ride our horses on the back roads there; however, as population density increased we began looking for a place further off the beaten path.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property in 2005 so that we could ride our horses in a scenic and somewhat isolated area, yet be near the amenities of the more populated Interstate 49 corridor. Initially we enlarged the existing house, built a barn, installed vinyl fencing, and then in August 2015 completed our lovely yurt.
